Guesthouse Sakuya is located at the last retro bus station (Oishi Park). You can ask the girl at the coffee shop to contact the hotel pickup bus for you. The guesthouse is farther up away and I found it to be very peaceful and cozy place away from the crowd. The room is a typical small Japanese room you would... More

The onsen is the main reason I chose Sakuya because it is a private, not a public onsen. My family still has not gotten used to going around naked with other strangers. Make a reservation at no extra cost. It overlooks Mount Fuji but only visible during the day. The onsen is divided into 2 separate rooms so the ladies... More

I stayed here in July. It ended up being the perfect base for us to climb Mount Fuji. The owner (and their wonderful family) took us to the station so we could get a bus to Mount Fuji's 5th station, they then picked us up after we got back, and then took us to the station for us to get... More

If you want to get away from the bustle of Tokyo, this is where you go. A shinkansen from Tokyo will have you speeding toward the Yamanashi Prefecture. Guesthouse Sakuya is located in a small town. My friend and I got there by the pickup car that was arranged for us by the guesthouse. All we had to do was... More

Sakuya Guesthouse is not exactly accessible by any public transport , though the nearest bus stop will be at Oishi Park, which is about a 20 min walk away. However , from the Japanese-style room that we were staying in , we get a perfect , unobscured view of Mount Fuji. The room (107) is spacious and clean and the... More

My husband and I stayed here for two nights, and enjoyed it thoroughly. It is quiet, peaceful and hospitable. The staff is kind and helpful, the rooms clean and comfortable, and the Onsen is extremely relaxing and clean, and available to reserve for a private soak. The meals offered are delicious and creative, and the views from the rooms, common... More

My husband and I stayed there for 3 days. We were really satisfied with everything. We stayed at the western type room (the japanese ones were unfortunaley fully booked). The owner was very kind as he was willingly to pick us up at kawaguchiko station although it was already past the picking hour. The house was very cozy and clean,... More

Our luggages were lost in theairport, and the owner (and the wife) continously help us calling the airline to ask about our luggages. The airline crew simply does not talk english so that the owner saved our live back then. The owner is really nice and always helpful. The room is nice (there is a yukata for bathing robe to... We stayed 2 nights as a family of 4 (2 young children under 3). Great place to stay with children as they not only made us all feel very welcomed, but also had a little kids area in the dining room with toys etc. We stayed in a Japanese style tatami room and loved sleeping on the futons and upon... My one regret is that we only spent one night here. Could have easily stayed a week. The room was beautiful with tatami mats and futons. The food was absolutely superb and the dining room overlooked Mt Fuji. The owner encouraged us to have an onsen bath and it was one of the best experiences of my life. I highly... More
