We stayed in Japanese style room for one night. The hotel did provide bicycle rental. You may cycling around Lake Kawaguchiko and a little bit far away for foods and convenience store. The onzen in the hotel located at 4th floor, its very quiet and need some cleaning i suppose. As can see many spider web and spiders busy around... More

To Be Honest, I guess the hotel hasnt renovated since its opening. The Hotel has opened for 65 years. You can guess how bad is its design. The hotel must renovated as soon as possible. However, the scene and the catering is above average. You can see the Mount Fuji Clearly from the hot spring area(of course you must watch... More

Insure it, set fire to it and rebuild with the claim. £71 for a night. Front reception took 10 minutes to come from the back office. Hotel was once top notch and opulent, the Emperor of Japan stayed, HOWEVER no money has been spent or reinvested. Paper coming off the walls, damp, stains on carpets and sofas, dirty bathroom, the... Horrible doesn't even begin to explain our dissatisfaction. Firstly the aircon in our Japanese room didn't work and the front desk staff didn't care or weren't interested. The room smelt of an old persons dresser (musty, old, smoky for those that haven't smelt an old persons dresser) which aggravated my wife's asthma and made her feel sick. The fridge also... More

From the outside driving up the driveway, you feel like you're coming to something majestic. But this ends as soon as you walk into reception. Inside has been neglected. Like something from a thriller movie. Think The Shining. From inside the room, it has a smell to it and we could hear people shouting in the hallways. Its expensive for... More

This hotel looks beautiful from the outside but is dated and old inside, no atmosphere. And overpriced for what you get. The location is not bad, but if you are catching the bullet train here book somewhere closer to the station- as it took over an hour to get here and had to catch a bus.

The hotel is very nice from outside and is set in a very convenient location, directly on the lake, at walking distance from many attractions. My room, Japanese style, was very big and flooded with light, lake view. Restaurant and onsen are in the hotel but I didn't try them. Wifi signal is very weak, normally doesn't work. The hotel... First time when I saw this hotel I think it look not bad because it location near the Kawaguchiko lake. But when I got in room , I smell something poor. Room is so old and the heater is broken with so much dust. The mosquito were in the room too.The best thing in this hotel is onzen on 4th floor... More

The hotel looks very nice from the outside, but was disappointing when we came in. It is very old, and needs serious restoration work. The rooms are big, but weren't very clean. The wi-fi is only available in the lobby. The location is not bad, facing the Kawaguchicko lake, but unfortunately, the area of Mt. Fuji's five lakes doesn't seem... More
