Kukuna was not our first preference of hotel but because we booked late, this was the only available one amongst our choices. The room turned out to be excellent with a full view of Mount Fuji. Though it was a bit pricy, considering that cherry blossom had still not set in, we enjoyed our stay thoroughly. Staff did not speak... More

I decided to treat myself with a posh hotel, with the view on Mt Fuji, room per night was almost 6000 JPY We didn't get change to see the Mt Fuji, but this wasn't the hotel's fault, cuz it was a rainy. It took us more than half an hour to check in and understand what they wanted to tell... More

Expensive but the view from the hot tub makes it worth the expense. Mount Fuji looming over the lake never looked better. Kukuna is a large resort style hotel which seems to have a Hawaiian theme going on. The "resort wear" isn't your usual Yukata, although that is also available for wearing in your room, but a loose fit smock... More

My review does not reflect a stay here. Rather, a draconian policy that resulted in us booking elsewhere. I called the hotel trying to make a reservation for two nights later. We wanted two rooms. One for two people and one for a single person. I was told that single guests could not stay. According to the website, they had... More

Though expensive, the rooms in this perfectly placed property are extremely well-equipped and tastefully furnished. The rooms come with expansive lake views, and are stocked with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The roof-top onsen was thoroughly enjoyable -I went up at about 12am, which meant I had the whole onsen to myself. It was a very refreshing experience... More

Good experience, there is a beautiful hot spring, beautiful natural scenery, good food, good fruit, good service. The most memorable moment in between returning to the station, we were on a private basis. Very satisfactory

After the crowd of Osaka and Kyoto we arrived to the peaceful Kawaguchiko lake. We stayed for 2 nights a the Kukuna hotel, it is a modern version of a ryokan. Indead it is expensive but we didn't regret it! We had our own private spa on the balcony facing the lake and Mount Fuji! What an experience! This place... More

Kukuna is one of the nicer hotels in Kawaguchiko (Ubuya two doors down is better). Great location and if the weather is nice has a spectacular view of the lake and Mt. Fuji. All the rooms face Mt. Fuji so you are guaranteed a view of Fuji san. The baths are not huge but good, indoor and outdoor baths looking... More
