The place has stunning views over the lake and over Mt Fuji and can be a great spot to explore the area around. I'd recommend it for one or two nights. The Onsen is great and has also the same amazing views. Food is good, but not exceptional. Service is kind and attentive and rather multilingual.

We stayed only one night and enjoyed every minute. Rooms in tradional japanese style. Private bathrooms but you should try the public bathroom with hot tubs outside overlooking the scenery. Definitely a special experience. Evening dinner in private room- and you dress up in the japanese clothes provided. Yummy food in excellent quality and friendly staff. Best of all is... More

We only spend one night here but we loved every minute of it. Sleeping in spacious rooms in traditional Japanese style with the most amazing view on Mount Fuji and the lake you can imagine. Put on your Japanese traditional clothes provided after a bath ( also fantastic) and get ready for a private traditional dinner. Everything made to perfection,... More

We stayed at Ubuya on the last night of our trip after three nights at Kogetsu. We love staying at high-end ryokans and on first impression, Ubuya felt upscale and exclusive. The extensive use of large full-height glass panes in the lake-facing rooms and onsen maximised the views and also gave the ryokan a modern facade. Inside the ryokan, the... More

We spent two nights here. The view is the best! You see mt Fuji through your windows at all times with all different kinds of lights during the day. The staff is very friendly. We had the same staff during our dinner and breakfast and they were really nice. The onsen were nice as well. Although we had much better... More

we stayed here for one night (wish it was two). we staying in between kyoto/osaka and tokyo which was perfect because it was a great refreshing break between semi-hectic city travels - it was like a personal spa day! (they have massage chairs right off the restaurant areas, which are free to use... such a great feature!) when the cab... More

Even though we only stayed 1 night, it was an unforgettable experience. We arrived at Kawaguchiko station, and a lady at the front desk helped to call for the shuttle bus, which took us on to the hotel (about 10 minutes' drive). Immediately we were greeted with hot green tea and sweets as we were checked in. We were taken... More

Our stay was perfect. From the moment we reached- perfect place, ambiance, perfect service, the lady and obasan are very accommodating and friendly. Our room is wonderful and zen, with huge full glass-window facing the lake and Mt.Fuji, that you can almost feel like walking through the glass. Shower is big enough for two with outdoor bath that we can... More

This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. The staff were brilliant. Location and view just incredible. The food was amazing. We got to wear the outfits. This is not one to miss. I'd say a couple of nights would be enough though.

One of the most wonderful experiences ever. Food out of this world. Breathtaking view (when the weather is clear). Wonderful hot springs bath. Worth every penny and more. This will be the highlight of your trip to Japan.
