We wanted to see mnt. Fuji during our visit to japan and sadly due to bad weather conditions we could only see the volcano for a couple of minutes this morning, even with this inconvenience, this hotel is perfect for honeymooners or people looking for a peaceful scape. From the outside the building might not look beautiful, but from the... More

We stayed in the room with the private bath. The room has an excellent view of mount Fuji.that we enjoyed a lot. The hotel location was perfect as well to explore Kawaguchiko-machi as the bus stop that goes around the town stops very near to the hotel. Service was impeccable as our hostess took really good care of us during... More

If you arrive on a good day, the view of Fujisan is simply stunning. We stayed in a suite room with a private rotenburo and from the outdoor bath, we can enjoy the splendid view of Fujisan. Dinner and breakfast were excellent. The spa was very relaxing that I feel asleep during my massage. Loved the lounge with drinks and... More

Just beautiful ! The facing of this Ryokan is probably the best ! The facing is DIRECT from the window of my room 413. Sitting at the coffee table by the window and looking out. The lake in front and Mt Fuji at the background ( if it decides to show up), I could not ask for more. Heavenly !... More

We took one of their largest rooms with an outside private bath, quite pricey but definitely worth it! Very beautiful Japanese room which even had its own mini indoor garden. We had an amazing view from our room at Mount Fuji (and it seems all rooms have a similar view). The property is a bit old, but very well maintained... More

We stayed two nights at Kozantei Ubuya. This place is a kind of ideal combination between a traditional ryokan and a modern auberge. Rooms are pure traditional japanese rooms but very spatious (ours was 24 m2 with two separate rooms and one loggia with a superb view on the lake and the Fuji mountain). Public baths are kept in excellent... More

The place has stunning views over the lake and over Mt Fuji and can be a great spot to explore the area around. I'd recommend it for one or two nights. The Onsen is great and has also the same amazing views. Food is good, but not exceptional. Service is kind and attentive and rather multilingual.

We stayed only one night and enjoyed every minute. Rooms in tradional japanese style. Private bathrooms but you should try the public bathroom with hot tubs outside overlooking the scenery. Definitely a special experience. Evening dinner in private room- and you dress up in the japanese clothes provided. Yummy food in excellent quality and friendly staff. Best of all is... More

We only spend one night here but we loved every minute of it. Sleeping in spacious rooms in traditional Japanese style with the most amazing view on Mount Fuji and the lake you can imagine. Put on your Japanese traditional clothes provided after a bath ( also fantastic) and get ready for a private traditional dinner. Everything made to perfection,... More

We stayed at Ubuya on the last night of our trip after three nights at Kogetsu. We love staying at high-end ryokans and on first impression, Ubuya felt upscale and exclusive. The extensive use of large full-height glass panes in the lake-facing rooms and onsen maximised the views and also gave the ryokan a modern facade. Inside the ryokan, the... More
