This place is absolutely perfect. I honestly have no idea how to write this review. The reception staff, the service, the hospitality was all perfect. The room we booked was far better than I could have dreamed of thus exceeding all my expectations. We had the most wonderful weather during our stay which allowed us to get the best possible... With a glorious view of Mt. Fuji, this Ryokan offerred the most relaxing and enjoyful stay. The food was exquisite and the staff were extremely helpful without being invasive. Again, the food was unbelievable! Just be careful, the Onsen is toasty but well worth a visit! We had planned tk take day trips but wild horses couldnt drag us away... More

My wife and I came here in April 2014 and this ryokan definitely stood out for us. It was fairly easy to get to (I just used google) and there is a short tax ride (about 1000 yen) to the ryokan from the nearest train station. My wife sat in the backseat and I sat next to the taxi driver,... More

Location: Situated on Lake Kawaguchi with stunning views of Mt. Fuji from every room. Access: We took the a train from Tokyo to Kawaguchiko Station and the hotel shuttle bus picked us up. They suggest to ring ahead to book the shuttle, we didn't as we weren't certain what time we would get there so we just rang at the... More

This was a wonderful experience in a traditional Japanese ryokan, complete with baths for both women and men and a nice spa for massages and facials. Both Japanese and Western food was served and enjoyed both. We had a spectacular view across the lake to Mt. Fuji! Definitely worth navigating the 3 trains from Tokyo to experience this weekend in... This hotel was an amazing experience. From the shuttle from the train station to the service to your front door, everything was exceptional. I was lucky enough to get a private onsen and with the view of Mt Fuji it was so romantic and surreal. The rooms are larger then japanese standards. The dinner is also top quality and the... More

It was dusk when we checked in at the ryokan. We could only see Mount Fuji as the silhouette from our room. Woke up early and found that Mt.Fuji was towering just before our eyes. Onsen on the balcony was great, just a little traffic noise from down below. Breakfasts and dinners were of great quality, presented with beautiful Japanese... More

It was almost impeccable, and defly worth long hours of transitioning from narita airport to kawaguchi ko (almost 7 hours!). Loved everything there, including the view (Fuji Mt. / lake view available from room), the room with very traditional Jap style, the food (dinner & breakie), the service, the onsen (again with Fuji Mt. view) and the neighbouring area. Can't... More

We stayed at Kozantei Ubuya on 10/11/14 and it was fantastic! We booked a Western room with a private bath + breakfast and dinner included. It was expensive but it was really worth every single cent there! We just loved how we had a private bath on our balcony and enjoyed the view! The beds were really comfy. The shower... More

Don't get sticker shocked. What you'll get by staying here is traditional 5-star Japanese service, which will destroy any other western experience you've had. I stayed here with my Japanese wife and my parents - who had never been to Japan before. We stayed in a half-Japanese half Western style bedroom with a private hot spring on our balcony and... More
