stayed one night at the standard tatami room with futon bed (not as soft as i imagined but worth the experience), arriving around 1pm via train at kawaguchiko station. went to tourist centre who told us to come back 10min before 2pm (apparently, hotel only picks guests up close to chk in time ie 2pm). anw, hotel van picked us... The goal of our 2014 Japan trip was to view Fuji-san from 4 different angles. Kawaguchiko, Hakone, izu Peninsula and Enoshima. Kawaguchiko's Kozentei Ubuya was the best view and the ryokan was first rate! The view was fabulous, just pray you get a clear day, which we had 3 beautiful days! The reflection of Fuji off the lake was spectacular!... More

This is our 4th time back here and it's service, food, room and beautiful room with views of Mt. Fuji are always of the same standard. We usually stay minimum 2nights or 3nights usually. Just a great place to chill and enjoy the tranquility. We always stay in the same room (Jap/Western style suite that includes breakfast & Dinner) booked... More

Amazing place, better service and the best views of Fujisan... After stay in this incredible ryokan, I have asked myself about what is expensive or what is not... Now, I'm really convinced about Ubuya is one of the most cheapest experiences I have had in my life. One of the most beautiful places you could ever been. No words. Rafa

My husband and I stayed at Kozantei Ubyua for 2 nights on August 20 & 21 and had high expectations based on prior reviews. The Ubuya exceeded our expectations in every way. While the price per person seems high, it's actually quite a good value considering the level of detail and quality in the breakfast and dinner included (not to... More

Views were fantastic. Food was delightful. Room was wonderful. The hotel staff were very committed and would go all the way out to help their customers. We were amazed and grateful. It is the people who work in this hotel that make this hotel a completely perfect place to stay.

This is once in a life time experience one must try. It is expensive but for those who is curious about staying in a Japanese ryokan, this is a good start. We have had three previous experience in different ryokan but this is by far, the best. The hotel is situated on the opposite side of Mt Fuji which means... More

It is an excellent hotel located at the best location at Kawaguchiko lake. Mountain Fuji is sitting in front of the hotel at the far distance. The reflection of the Mountain Fuji can be seen from Kawaguchiko lake from the rooms windows. Even you can enjoy the beautiful views from the onsen baths. The hotel and the onsen baths are... More

Stayed here in April for two nights and had a wonderful time. The hotel must have one of the best views of Mount Fuji and I was able to take some magnificent photographs. Staff, room, food and onsen baths are all first class. The experience of staying at this hotel was worth every single penny.

Captivating view of Mt Fuji by the lake in the rooms, restaurants and the hotel's onsen! Excellent Japanese food and wine selection with very helpful and friendly service. Perhaps a good thing that wifi access is limited to the reading room only. Definitely coming back again.
