The staff is so attentive. They arranged to pick us up from the bus/train station. The room is traditional tatami floor where they serve a multi-course dinner in your room, then prepare futon beds afterward. We had a room with a private outdoor hot spring, and there was also an indoor soaking tub too. A traditional Japanese breakfast is served... More

We are usually budget travellers but decided to include this in our trip as an indulgence and it was a great decision. We chose the traditional Japanese room which added to the experience of going to a private onsen ryokan. At 6.30 sharp, dinner was served and for the next two hours a delicious hurricane of expertly made dishes whirled... More

The rooms are very nice and the service is good. The food is of very good quality, although we have seen even better in other top-level ryokan. The most interesting aspect is certainly the private onsen (thermal bath) in the room. The location is not optimal, with no view of Mt. Fuji and no particularly interesting attractions nearby (the cable... More

Our son booked two rooms at this ryokan for all of us, and this is likely the most luxurious place we have ever stayed (and perhaps the most expensive, too). My husband and I had a very large suite that was beautifully clean and comfortable. We loved the private onsen; that we did not have to be in a public... More

A luxury Japanese ryokan, with a very helpful staff. For us "foreigners", the private Onsens allowed us to experience this natural hot spring without feeling ashamed of being naked with strangers. The food is also delicious!! The overall experience was incredibly relaxing and enjoyable.

The private Onsen natural rock hot tub was fantastic. Breakfast was amazing, just so fresh and delicious. Tea and other traditional aspects upon arrival was a great touch. Loved having kimonos to wear while on the Ryoken grounds. We will come back!

What can I say, this was an amazing place to stay. We stayed for two nights with breakfast. The private Onsen on our patio was beautiful, the room was large and very comfortable. Breakfast was great a member of staff comes into your room and sets breakfast out for you, about 12 small disches each, some of the food I... More

Let's start with the positives: upon arriving at Kawaguchiko station we were able to call the ryokan for a car and were promptly picked up. Upon arriving we were pleasantly greeted and shown to our room, where we were served tea and a snack. The room itself was a good size and the private onsen and garden courtyard are as... More

Truly one of the best places Ive ever stayed in. We stayed in one of the suites (the Genji suite) so I can't comment on the regular rooms (I believe they have 6 rooms and 3 suites). The decor of the suite and the sheer size of it are stunning. Impressive attention to detail in all parts (a bedroom that... More
