Upon reaching Kawaguchiko station, go to the tourist information centre which is next to the station. Request for them to call Onsenji for pick up. Within 5 minute and the courteous driver arrive. Great driver with high class van to start the trip. It was raining and the driver ensure we got up and down the van without getting wet.... More

The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. The Ryokan was comfortable with two separate areas- one for sleep and one for eating. The futons were comfortable, the rooms were clean, there was free wifi, and the personal onsen was hot but very relaxing. The breakfast was traditional Japanese (with lots of fish), but our hosts modified the breakfast as we... More

Stayed at Yumedono as a base for climbing Fuji-San. My family and I had planned to tackle the mountain as a day challenge. The staff at Yumedono did all they could to assist, including providing special make this possible including making breakfast available earlier than normal, together with welcoming us back at the completion of such a long day. That... More

Bring a small gift to share with your hosts. This is my personal advice, not because this ryokan is any different to any other and expects it, but because in giving you demonstrate how you appreciated the care shown during your stay. Our hosts were thoughtful and went out of their way to assist us with bike hire, providing an... More

We stayed here for three nights. although it is a bit of a distance from the train station, the hotel was in a lovely location. just walking distance to the lake, and 10-15 minutes walk to the tourist side of the lake. we were picked up and dropped off at the train station via the free service offered by the... We stayed here for one night and the big room and comfy futons were very welcome, as was the seeming peace and quiet after our last hotel. The private onsen was bliss. Then the weird announcements started around 19:00: we could work out where they were coming from - possibly the nearby train station, but they went on for about... More

We stayed in the Executive Japanese room for our two nights at Onsenji Yumedono, and were pleased with its size and facilities. The futon beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was fairly basic, nothing fancy or upgraded, but the toiletries were plentiful as were the towels and robes/slippers. We enjoyed our own private onsen and deck, although we did find... We stayed one marvellous night in March 2015 at this magical ryokan and have amazing memories as a result of this experience. While we soaked in the onsen, drinking plum wine after a kaiseki dinner, there was a hail and rain shower - so we sheltered under the sun parasol in the onsen and kept warm while watching nature unleash... It's really classic and beautiful Ryokan with cute staff and service. Very traditional decoration. Tidy room. I really love it. Hope to come back again. But the price is quite expensive, thus we decided to stay here only one night. The dinner set is quite expensive, we decided to have dinner outside and came back.

We liked the evening, the dinner and the service.. The little private garden with onsen is so nice, room comfy and the hotel grounds are beautiful. The lady was also very helpful, all good! The next morning : We knew breakfast would be early, no discussion so forget sleeping in, we woke up and where ready for it! Breakfast is... More
