This isn't our first visit to this hotel and we will definitely be back again. The room was comfortable but the outstanding part of this visit was the meal in the evening. Since our last visit the menu has been changed (for the better) and we were given a wide choice. My husband chose the Salmon Crumble with frites, I... More

Basic motel, typical of the brand. Not good value at full rack-rate but okay if booked at a discounted price. Expensive, but uninspired simple evening meal menu.(Poor value for money.) Reasonable breakfast.

This is a budget hotel, but one my wife and I find more satisfactory than some higher priced ones. Rooms are basic, but clean. Same for the bathroom of course. The staff have always been great, letting me try out my (poor) French and only jumping in with English when I've got myself in a tangle. Clearly aimed at the... More

We arrived at the Alençon Campanile late on a Friday evening in August. It was a welcome relief to arrive at somewhere where there was a friendly welcome and a helpful response, and despite the more expensive price, well worth the stay. We had made a booking at B&BHotels which had been mis-processed for the wrong night (not my fault,... More

The staff really did make this a pleasant stay! They spoke good English too. We were travelling from Spain up to Calais. Dog was not a problem. There is green space to walk a dog nearby. Room 70 euros, dog 5 euros, dinner 53 euros. The dinner was nice and there was a specials board. Husband had pork ribs and... More

We had a nightmare journey down from the channel tunnel, 6hrs instead of 3h30m thanks to the satnav giving up on Rouen's road closures so we needed what we always get from the Campanile chain. The room was adequate, two comfortable beds, quiet, and with parking ouside the door as it is all on one level. The man in reception... More

A shabby little hotel in a shabby little industrial area. The signposting is negligible, making it it hard to find in the dark. The welcome by the man on reception bordered on hostile. The waitress in the dining room was worse. A request for omelettes, as offered on the menu, at about 9 p.m., was met by a "Non" with... More

Dear guest, Many thanks for your review. Clearly you did not have a good experience during your recent visit. You have identified several areas where we fell short of your expectations. It is disappointing to note the inconsistencies in service levels you encountered from our team. There’s certainly no reason for this to be the case and I’ll follow this... More

The hotel clearly is outdated. The room smelled humid and was not very clean. One of the bedsheets was blood stained. Breakfast, not included, was okay, but not more than that. Too much money for the value. Directly outside of the room was a ashtray for smokers. In the room one could smell this!! We wil never book here again.

We needed air conditioning in Alencon and this was the one place that had it. Probably the lowest standard of accom I've stayed in but it was better than expected. The air-conditioning worked well, the toiletries were no worse than a lot of the chain hotels in France - one squeeze bottle for hair and body shampoo. It was also... More
