We have just returned from a wonderful 10 day visit to Prato di Sotto. Penny has created an oasis of peace and calm in the beautiful Umbrian hills, and is a great host and source of local information. Prato di Sotto proved to be a great base from which to explore the lovely towns, villages and countryside of Umbria...and was... More

Prato di Sotto is the most amazing oasis in the beautiful Umbrian hills. There are so many reasons why we love it: stunning views, relaxed atmosphere, beautiful decorated houses, most welcoming host Penny (always there if you need something, but never intrusive) and the home away from home feeling she is able to create. And these are really only few... More

Our stay at Prato di Sotto was so utterly lovely - I really couldn't thank Penny enough for all she did to make it a fantastic holiday for our (adult) family. Perhaps most astonishingly, EVERYONE in the family liked it, something that has never been known in several decades of family history. My brother's reaction on arrival was 'why didn't... More

We spent a wonderful week here in July with 16 of my family and it couldn't have been better. The whole place is beautifully designed and decorated and you feel at home as soon as you arrive. Fantastic views, an amazing swimming pool, comfy beds and the loveliest host. Penny made us feel so welcome and so did her dogs... More

A group of 7 of us stayed in the big house, and were so sad to leave we're already wondering how soon we can return. It's a stunningly beautiful location. And the house was wonderful - without doubt the best equipped holiday place I've stayed in, with great views and loads of space. We loved our meals round the big... More

Following an anxious day of travel due to flight problems, the lovely owner Penny Radford stayed up very late indeed, keeping in constant touch until we finally arrived at this wonderful hideaway. Our travel woes were soon forgotten as we relaxed into the most comfortable of accommodation, with spectacular views and beautiful gardens. Everything is catered for to make your... More

We came to Umbria for a wedding which meant a group of us sharing the "big house". The long kitchen table was perfect for lingering dinners using fabulous local ingredients and lubricated with very good local wine. In fact the nearby winery (ask Penny for details) is a must visit. Prato di Sotto is cleverly designed to allow everyone their... More

We spent a week in May at Prato Di Sotto and whilst a little to cool to take advantage of the beautiful pool the rest of the facilities suited us perfectly. We stayed in Il Molino a one bedroom apartment which had spectacular views and a lovely outside living area to just kick back and relax. Penny was wonderful and... More

This was our fifth visit to Pratto Di Sotto and it 's beauty and tranquillity still surprises us. We stayed in La Cappanna ,the cottage ,with stunning views and beautiful terrace. Penny makes you so welcome, the gardens surrounding the property are full of roses and many interesting plants. A wonderful centre from which to explore Umbria.

This was our first visit with friends who were returning for their 11th visit, so we knew we were not going to be disappointed. Firstly the accommodation was beautiful, we stayed in Il Molina. The views from the windows were stunning, the veranda perfectly positioned. The surrounding immediate countryside is breath taking, so relaxing and full of wildlife. The owner... More
