We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this piece of history. We were well looked after and, in fact, we moved to a very pretty cottage, which had a bigger bed! Dinner was good, and breakfast outstanding. The dining room is amusingly and attractively done. It was also so pleasant to sit in front of the fire and have a chat with... More

It's hard to describe the outstanding service levels, the lovely accommodation and the great food that we experienced at Die Tuishuise and Victoria Manor in Cradock. There is SO much to do - relaxing, sight-seeing, mountain-biking… - that we simply didn't have enough time. If we expressed even the slightest wish for anything, our wishes were fulfilled. The staff is... More

The old Victoria Hotel, and a whole street of historic houses, have been lovingly restored to their original condition. Each house has a different theme. Meals are served in the hotel. Traditional Karoo food. Delicious. As the houses are furnished with antiques, it is not really suited to very young children. It is worth going to Cradock just to stay... More

We have been staying at Die Tuishuise with different groups of people for many years now. If they stayed there once, they never forget it - for all the right reasons. When they come back with other friends, they always request to stay there again, if the route makes it possible. They are just fascinated by the quaint cottages, the... More

We stayed at the Tuishuise for 2 nights in the cottage called "ANNA" It consisted of 2 bedrooms,2 bathrooms,a lounge and a kitchen. The houses are old and decorated in an antique style. Some maintenance is needed!!As I stay in an old house myself,I know how much maintenance is needed to keep it up to standard!! As to facilities..the tv only has... More

On our way back from the Hogsback we stayed at the Tuishuise and what a pleasant suprise. My guests that shared accommodation, each had their own room and this does make a big difference when on tour. The homes each had a kitchen with all amenities and television in the lounge. We actually had great fun with this accommodation as... More

We stayed overnight in a very comfortable room - the frontier. Right next door is a fantastic cafe - the Schreiner - where we had home cooked lunch. The pate was superb as was the soup. The little town is definitely worth a visit and a must is the Schreiner museum - probably the most interesting small museum I've been... More

If you're passing through Cradock don't miss a night in the Tuishuise. The Victorian cottages have all been lovingly restored and you can see that the whole street has been a wonderful labour of love. Make sure you book dinner in the beautiful and elegant dining room at the Victoria Hotel - what a treat! The Karoo fare is excellent.... More

We really enjoyed our one night stay in Cradock at this hotel like no other! Each 'room' is a cottage which has been renovated in a period style. Ours was called 'die werf' and it's theme was a rustic farm cottage. We loved it. We were lucky enough to see several of the others which were occupied by friends. They... More

The accommodation in a 3 bedroom cottage was charming. It felt as if one had walked into one's grandparent's home. The furniture was well-suited to the period of the house. The bed was comfortable with fresh clean linen. There was only one bathroom with the toilet in the bathroom, which could have been awkward with people you don't know particularly... More
