We stayed in one of the Tuishuise cottages last weekend as a last minute decision after having to make an overnight stop in Cradock. We decided to book here as it was at the top of the Tripadvisor list for Cradock, and we soon saw why! After checking in at the hotel we were led to our historic cottage. What... More

Cradock has lots of old buildings, including Die Tuishuise itself. My research suggested that is the obvious place to stay and my one-night stay confirmed that. The room was not large but the service was good. Also a very good dinner. If you are going to Cradock, you are probably going from Port Elizabeth to Mountain Zebra National Park, which... More

One gets so used to hotel and guesthouse rooms that you start to compare everything with that. Well, this can't be compared to any of those. Tuishuise is ideally situated in Cradock to explore the town's history and other sights as well as for a trip out to Mountain Zebra. Its the second time I stayed at Tuishuise and the... More

Just like the pictures - a row of bright houses with Victorian tin roofs. We stayed in "Out of Africa", it was like stepping back 100 years. All the basic are provided, the houses are well restored, neatly decorated and makes you smile. There is plenty of information provided in the house on things to see and do. Detailed history... More

We have stayed in the Die Tuishuise for two nights. The place is really unique and beautiful. We had a big beautiful house for ourselves. The house was furnished with very old items. Everyting looked original like in the 18th century. It was like living in another time or museum. The restaurant in the hotel was delicous and the staff... More

Our second stay at this quirky but wonderful hotel, and accommodation. From the clear concise on-line booking, the exchange of e-mails and check in to the leaving this was a pleasurable stay. The restaurant, food and staff are excellent. Everyone is attentive and helpful. The only slight downside was a need to improve some of the plumbing, (but these were... More

Absolutely Gorgeous! We LOVED it!!!! The care and attention we were given here was incomparable to anything we have experienced, and we travel a LOT. The little house we were given across the road was very cute, and filled with antiques. It had a small garden with fruit trees, a back door led to a tiny kitchen and the rest... More

Have stayed here a couple of times, and each time the experience is the same, easy convenient and friendly assistance. This time it is however worth mentioning that the dinner we were served was excellent. Every dish a taste sensation of its own.

I know title is usually reserved for the small town of Graaff Reinet but this place truly deserves the monicker. Beautiful house restored with an eclectic mix of antiques and wonderful modern linens and towels. Clean, comfortable and full of character. You can eat at the restaurant or self cater which was great as we were tired and did not... More
