Sat in the bar, a lone lady, and had a wonderful lunch. Lovely friendly staff. A nice mix of locals and a couple of tourists. It can sometimes feel a bit...lonely...being a solo woman in a pub, but this was a lovely comfortable environment. Had roast beef, done just the way I asked. Perfect!

The Scalloway Hotel has so many attributes which made our stay so perfect. From the very beginning dealing with them by email, they were very helpful and full of great advice. We travelled there for the fire festival and the procession went right past the front of our hotel, and tickets were sourced for us to get into a hall... More

On a work visit to Shetlands and my accommodation was arranged for me on the 'Flotel' Bibby Challenge moored in the habour a typical oil field operation where food is canteen style and uninviting. The alternative was a five minute walk where it was a joy to find the Scalloway Hotel where for two nights I enjoyed good food and... More

I absolutely loved my visit to Shetland!! There is so much to do around the main island, especially for those who enjoy being outdoors. I hope to come back someday and visit more of the islands. We decided to stay in Scalloway and we found it to be a great, central location. Driving on Shetland was my first time driving... More

I have been here a handful of times in recent years and had lunches, bar suppers and main evening meals. All have been excellent quality with fresh ingredients and make you feel like you're doing something a bit special. The atmosphere in the bar has a nice local feel to it without being intimidating. Great range of drinks and cocktails... More

It is a very rare thing to find a warm and busy pub, with a fantastic restaurant next door and amazingly cosy, comfortable rooms upstairs. Not fussy or over-priced...but welcoming and consistently high quality in all respects, with lots of Shetland produce on show at its brilliant best. The location is ideal for a wander around Scalloway's sea-front too. The... More

Once upon a time there was an Island closer to Norway than Scotland called the Shetland Islands, where you get get charged over 100 pounds for the worst hotel rooms you had ever stayed in, but the hoteliers didn't give a damn because they were guaranteed full occupancy because of the gas plant....... Then there was The Scalloway Hotel where... More

travelling for work, as usual, this time offered a change out from usual haunts in Lerwick, Shetland. The Scalloway Hotel is a short drive out of Lerwick, and situated in the bay at Scalloway, a very picturesque little town. Scalloway has a range of historic features and a very strong tie to Norway with the home of the WW2 Shetland... More

Popped into the Scalloway Hotel on Saturday 16th August for a light lunch after visiting the Scalloway Museum (WWII 'Shetland Bus' exhibition). Very tasty leek and potato soup followed by an Irish Coffee. Good atmosphere - the local pub.
