Popped into the Scalloway Hotel on Saturday 16th August for a light lunch after visiting the Scalloway Museum (WWII 'Shetland Bus' exhibition). Very tasty leek and potato soup followed by an Irish Coffee. Good atmosphere - the local pub.

This small but perfectly formed Hotel in the Shetland Islands is a must for those who take their food seriously. Reasonably priced bar food available as well as a more adventurous menu in the restaurant. Situated in the Ancient capital of the Shetlands Scalloway only 10 mins from Lerwick recommended

We had morning coffee then came back for lunch in the bar as the menu looked really nice. It was delicious and the mussels were the best I've had for a long time. Really wide selection of drinks too. Hubby enjoyed a nice draught ale (Dimmer Sim) and I had a lovely glass of chilled white wine. The restaurant menu... More

Really nice harbour facing room. Authentic Shetland decorative touches - locally made furniture and fabrics used. A beautiful vase of flowers was in the room. The bathroom was super, with heated floor and power shower. A central point to explore Shetland from. Both the bar and restaurant food were very good indeed. As good as you will find anywhere in... We stayed close to Scalloway and visited for an evening meal. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere - an atmosphere to talk with friends, family. There is a good choice of starters and main. I had seafood for both courses - large mussels and very tasty. Fish for main was delicious. Overall, a lovely meal

This was our second annual visit to this hotel and we can't wait to return next year. We stayed a total of 4 nights. Our harbour facing room on the second floor was tastefully furnished using Shetland fabrics and local materials. The bed was luxurious. One small downside is that there is no lift but the climb was more than... More

I stayed in the hotel for 3 nights while in Shetland on business. I found all the staff very friendly and welcoming, particularly as I was eating alone most of the time, the staff would come and talk to me and make sure I was doing okay. The food was fantastic, lovely fresh produce that I could not fault. I... More

This room we had was very nicely done up and the staff were friendly and helpful. Cosy bar. Parking was easy and we walked out by the sea and up to the museum to find out about the Shetland Bus. Food was variable - a bit overpriced and I think there may have been staffing problems the night we ate... More

We went tonight for a quiet drink. The barman was rude, unhelpful and very belittling, The bar was quiet, the tables were sticky, food on floor. The bar was trying to live up to something it is not. Its simply a bar, not a class establishment as it tries to be. I can say for certain i will not visit... More

It’s unfortunate that you’ve chosen to vent your spleen by posting this nasty review, after you and your friends were requested to moderate your language in our bar. We’re a family-friendly hotel, so we ask customers not to swear. If you choose to interpret that as us “trying to be a class establishment” , that’s up to you. In fact,... More

The hotel is nice but a bit out-dated. Atmosphere is relaxed, staff are friendly. High quality breakfast, incl fresh berries. Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs was delicious Our room was very, very small but we knew it already in advance, so were prepared. It was the only one available. Bed was very comfortable. There were sheepskins over the bed. The... More
