The arduousness of a long and challenging drive from Delhi melted away on entering the portals of this special paradise. It was the last week for the rhododendron forest that soars above and enwraps the property to be in flower, so carpets of blood red petals on the magical walking trails. A full moon was accompanied by bird call that... More

Remoteness is a rarity in much of India and the Mary Budden Estate is maybe the most remote hotel I have ever been to... Having just spent the incredible days there I cannot recommend it more highly - I only wish we had stayed longer. The whole place is beautifully restored with a great eye for design and absolute attention... More

A charming property which is very elegantly decorated and extremely well maintained. Although the drive is long from Delhi it is well worth the effort as the ambiance and beauty of Mary Budden is breathtaking. All around the property one will find cosy corners provided for in the landscape with breathtaking views. The staff are very friendly and Mrs. Chopra... More

So out of this world that u want to live there forever. Wish I could have spent few days there- well may be next time.Ms Chopra... More

Mary Budden Estate makes the long journey getting there well worth the while. Not only is it precious for its location, (ensconced as it is in the Binsar wildlife sanctuary), and its vintage, (the estate's history dates back to the 1800s), it is probably one of the few colonial properties that offers visitors a fine balance of authentic restoration alongside... We spent a week at Mary Budden Estate at Binsar - located on top of a hill in verdant forests of Binsar Sanctuary, about an hour from Almora at about 8000 ft. It is one of the most amazing holidays we had - and all thanks to Ms. Serena Chopra who has passionately created this luxurious heaven in the middle... More

I was planning a getaway right after my wedding, and a close friend suggested I look at Mary Budden Estate if we were keen on a quiet few days in a corner of the hills. What we experienced at the property was beyond our expectations. The view and setting of the property is nothing short of stunning, but the actual... More

I am a lover of Indian jungles- its unique flora and fauna. Over the years I have done numerous safaris in the jungles like Corbett, Ranthambore, Panna, Kabini and Bandipur. However except Corbett, Indian jungles donot provide great options to stay within the jungle and come close to its original inhabitants. In that respect Binsar Sanctuary is a great option... More

My Husband and I chose Mary Budden Estate, Binsar as a perfect getaway in the hills while planning our first vacation without kids, in seven years and it was PERFECT!! If lush green mountainside, moss on the trees, silence punctuated by bird songs and cries of barking deer, long walks in forest, the thrill of spotting leopard pugmarks without encountering hordes of tourists, is...
