Greenwoods is well located, very close to the beach and its fishing colony, within easy walking distance of the main town sights. We had a large room with balcony on the second floor for 900rs including breakfast. Prices vary greatly, so it's a good idea to negotiate the best rate based on the room quality and length of stay. If you are looking for luxury this is not the place, it a typical budget place for backpackers. Offers AC and non ac rooms wit decent size, and the resort being an old architecture adds to the beauty. Location is excellent with the best cafes right around. Also offers Ayurveda massages, excellent and relaxing experience.

We were a group of girls traveling to Mahabalipuram. We had booked 2 rooms through Makemytrip. But when we arrived, they informed us that no rooms were available, Then they said, they would give us one room but then the second one would be given in the night. I raised my voce and asked them to cancel the booking. Then... More

I stayed here with a school group after a project. The rooms were clean and air conditioning was most welcome. The family work hard to ensure that everyone enjoys their stay and they look after you with real warmth and affection - nothing is too much trouble! The hotel is conveniently located near to the beach and shops. There is... More

I enjoyed my stay at Greenwoods. I had a non-aircon fan room (in December you probably won't need air-conditioning anyway) with its own bathroom and balcony. The room was attractive, it had a double bed and a daybed by the window, shelving and a swing chair (yes!!) The bathroom was small, a bit grubby, but I am used to this.... More

We have had an amazing stay at the Greenwood. This family hotel makes you feel at home. The facilities are ideal for a simple holiday and more than suitable for any traveller. Now they have wifi along with ac it is a home from home. I cannot recommend the place more highly.

Amazing hotel. Best hotel I've ever stayed in. The breakfast omelette is to die for. What a lovely family. This was my first trip to Asia and when I am in India next I will definitely return here. Vijay and Ryan, the porters are superb and I was honestly humbled by the loveliness of the family of sindu and Co.... More

Nice, quiet, calm oasis around a garden courtyard. Basic rooms with AC run by a friendly family, good value at 1200 a night. The beds were quite hard, which was the main drawback. I'd agree with other reviews that the rooms could do with a facelift, but perhaps some are worse than others, as we found it quite charming and... More

We stayed here off season and negotiated an A/C room down to 1050. This still is wayyyy over the price these rooms are worth. The family are nice but the rooms really let this place down. Walls are dirty, electrics are dodgy and the water fixings are as good as rusted out making for a metallic smelling/feeling cold (luke warm... More

Delightful family run hotel, Our hosts were so helpful, arranging trips and taxis, giving information. very welcoming. the hotel courtyard is a pleasant place to be. we read reviews suggesting uncleanliness, which i think unfair. certainly the hotel is well worn, a little on the shabby side, but not dirty. the very fact the place is none to smart adds...
