Reasonable tariffs. Courteous staff. Good location. Costly coffee. Didn't taste the food. Neat and small rooms. Indoor car park. Shopping area. Stinking pond at the back side. Air conditioner in good condition. Money exchange in compound.

I like to book up my annual trip to India well in advance and the Ramakrishna was one of the few places offering rooms via the booking sites many months before we went. I picked one of their deluxe air con rooms and it was exactly as shown on their website. The price was approx. £35 per night without breakfast... More

This very "Indian" hotel is set around a courtyard with small but pleasant spotlessly clean rooms. With no windows they might seem a trifle claustrophobic, and i was easily able to touch the ceiling. I also hit my head on the door lintel. No toiletries are provided, although a Gideon Bible is beside the bed! The rooftop restaurant "with a... More

Good clean rooms, speedy wi-fi, friendly staff, 3 min by walking to the nearest beach on the street full of shops and restaurants but without big traffic. You are given password for Internet access with a limit of 650Mb. Yet, it's no problem to take other password when the limit expires. I see some people are a bit disenchanted by this hotel.. I really wonder why.. did they think they are entering a palace of Indian splendour? The hotel, their website, the staff and everything about it is crying out that this is a "budget" hotel!.. and they are honest about it. Having said this, I had quite a comfortable stay... More

The stay at Hotel Ramakrishna is much less pleasant than it could be because there are no windows in the rooms. Coupled with an over eager use of highly smelly air 'fresheners', the lack of air and strong fragrance makes the rooms a bit oppressive. That said, the rooms were fairly clean, and the restaurant on the rooftop is a... More

I had been here on 28th December for 1 day, had travelled in car from Bangalore. I had read the reviews and had selected this hotel based on tripadvisor comments, but was disappointed when i saw the size of rooms. I had paid 1400 rupees and the room was not worth, on a positive note room was clean and had... More

Stayed two nights in this hotel. Location is great with a short walk to restaurants, the beach and the temple. Receptionist were not the most helpful but courteous nonetheless. Rooms were basic but clean and a hot water was available. WiFi in the rooms was a big plus.

The otherwise serene Mahabalipuram can be a frustrating experience if you choose a wrong place to stay! Please avoid this property for its terrible quality of rooms, horrible service and forgettable experience.

We stayed here for two days. It is pretty clean. Staffs are prompt and courteous. It is very near to the beach. Room is not very spacious but has a king size bed which should be good for two. They have a roof top restaurant and the room service of food is available which you will get in quick time.... More
