Poor quality of room for the price. We've found much more better in same area for cheaper price. Wifi not available as promised. Hotel needs a big renovation. Very uncomfortable bed. Do not suggest to anyone.

A very good place to stay. I had a very pleasant stay! The beach is only 2 min by foot. Just walk through the garden turn left and then right. And voila: you are at the beach. There is also a small art gallery - so cool! The location is also very nice. The value for money is amazing. Service... More

We spent a couple of nights here, whilst taking our in-laws to see Mahabalipuram. They had an a/c room with patio; we had a room with a fan - both on the first floor. It's an attractively designed guest house, with lots of space to sit outside the rooms. I think the first floor's definitely the nicer option if you've... More

First time I stayed downstairs , value for money. Last two years I stayed one month and six weeks . First floor , enjoy a lot the outside area as there is always a nice sea breeze. Made great friends with Lead the dog . Some guest maybe do not like her barking during the night but she keeps tugs... More

Villa Manikandan offers the same level of comfort (i.d. basic) as other places around Othavadai street, and within the same price range (from 400Rs). What made me like that place and decide to stay there is something in the air, that makes it not just another budget guest house. Pascale (the french owner) is always up for a chat, Vela... More

This guesthouse could have been very comfortable and perfect for low-middle budget. However, the 24 hours spent there happened to be absolutely disappointing. The room was stifling, with old mattresses and dirty pillows. And "icing on the cake": some dog's sh... in front of our room when we woke up the next morning... not removed before 10 am! And when... We arrived at noon, when sun was frying us up. We checked in Room 101(R.400 per day), the last one on the ground floor. The placed is managed by a French Lady and the place makes you feel at home. The room looked pretty decent but not extraordinary. The Bucket and Mug provided are horrible but the bathroom was ok.... More

Villa Maikandan was perfect for our stay. Our room and bathroom were very clean, simple, cool and light. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Pascale the owner is very nice and knowledgeable, she helped us to find nice places in the town.

My husband and me stayed in the villa for a few months and it felt like a second home. Good location, close to the beach, nice staff and you get a family on top of it even if it is only for a few days. If you search for great luxury and no powercuts you should go somewhere else, the... More

For 1,000 Rs this joint is very reasonable - pros: Close to beach, Quiet, AC and fan Outdoor private seating area, Close to all restaurants and attractions Cons: Not very clean, no hot water, power outages, mosquito ridden General comments about the town: The day we arrived in Mahabalipuram the police were enforcing prohibition in the town, which meant we...
