We have stayed at Brekkeseter at multiple occasions. The place is just fantastic. Kari and Bjorn as hosts make you feel at home. We prefer renting one of the log cabins for the entire family, but have also stayed as a couple without children in one of the hotel rooms. The atmosphere is fantastic in the log cabins where you... Wanted mountains, peace and quality - along with something "authentic", as I brought an English friend. Stayed in "Rundtomstua", self catered breakfast&lunch, dinners at hotel. Perfect location, comfortable well equiped cabin, wonderful open fireplace and unlimited firewood included in price. Hosts Bjørn&Kari are welcoming and informal, serve excellent meals and even have an extensive wine list. You will dine with... More

Brekkeseter is truly unique, with its location at the foot of the Rondane National Park, the hospitality of the hosts, but more than anything else - the romance and quality of its village collection of old log chalets - all luxuriously restored with taste and dedication to Norwegian tradition. Although self catering based, do not leave without sampling the exquisite... More

We have visited Brekkeseter both summer and winter and in both seasons it is beautiful and well situated – and if you want to use the restaurant, the food is simply fantastic! In the winter you step into the ski track that runs immediately in front of the "seter" cottages. Brekkeseter is the "seter" which is closest to the beautiful... More

We stayed only one night at Brekkeseter while travelling though Gudbrandsdalen in Norway but it made a great impression. We were lucky with the weather and were able to take advantage of the fantastic mountain trail network right on our doorstep. We rented one of the hotels cabins which were very well equiped. The hotel provided an excellent meal -... More

We spent 3 nights in the Bamsebu cottage that is part of the hotel and cottages complex Brekkeseter. Great and friendly service by the owners Setsaas. Nothing seemed to be an issue. The cottage could sleep 6, had a full equipped kitchen, with induction cooking plate, good oven, fireplace etc. We had a dog with us and that was not... More

A lovely place full of Norwegian folk tale charm, where you can follow the paths of Peer Gynt and Kristin Lavransdatter (on nicely groomed ski trails). Charming old (ours--1792!) but very comfortable cabins, and friendly, helpful hosts--both of whom have lived in the U.S.--both excellent cooks. The food is beautifully presented and prepared local and regional dishes--delicious! Skiing: great! Wood... More

With an exceptional location, excellent food and a lovely family who owns and put their life into this mountain lodge at the edge of one of Norways´ most beautiful national parks makes this a mus seet on your 2 week trip to Norway. The new years eve buffet: Graved moose/elk, reindeer, trout, salmon and other homemade game. That was the... More

The service was very kind and helpful, the cabins were very nice, the nature was fantastic and the food was... absolutely superb! Even good connections for them without car (train from Oslo to Otta and then bus to Høvringen). More

We fell in love with Brekkeseter the moment we saw it. And our feeling became stronger when we walked in to the cottage we would stay in. With our 9 months old daughter we stayed for two nights and we enyojed every moment. When we looked out the window the first morning two sheeps was eating their breakfast just outside... More
