We stayed here after attending a wedding in Langholm. The staff were all very friendly and the rooms were really comfortable. We had a very generous breakfast, there was so much to choose from so no-one should go hungry. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

We dine at The Douglas Hotel regularly and never once have we had a bad meal. The service is excellent and the food is always amazing. Puddings are divine. We went for our daughters 9th birthday last week and had a lovely experience. They even cater for fussy children like ours! Highly recommend.

A good stay with well prepared home cooked meals. Lasagne and steaks were tasty and more than ample. A great selection of sweets to chose from. Friendly staff very helpful. Comfortable room. Would stay again

Birthday meal for 4 during the week. Selection of specials at a level of sophistication not available locally and mains crafted far better than any other place in town. Offers quality produce sourced from near by.

My husband and I were looking for something to eat in the area while our son was at a party. Even though they were very busy serving meals on a Friday night they made room for us and were very welcoming. A quaint but immaculate dining room which had a great menu, and fantastic specials board. Lots of local produce,... More

This is the second time I've stayed at the Douglas hotel with friends. It's a cosy, welcoming place. I stayed with some friends to see a band. We arrived early afternoon, and had a look around the little town. We went back and had a nice cup of tea in our rooms followed by dinner downstairs. It was busy! The... More

We visited the Douglas Hotel restaurant recently with friends, for a celebratory meal and catch up whilst visiting Scotland. It was a Saturday night and the moderate sized dining room was full'ish (7.30) which makes it warm, as it's downstairs towards the back of the hotel and internal, the décor is rustic and cosy. The staff are friendly and attentive,... More

We were making our way up to the Spey and wanted to break our journey. The hotel was well appointed and the rooms well decorated. The menu of the day in the dining room gave a good choice and the cooking was exceptional. Good wine list. Excellent evening in the busy didning room. Breakfast was first class wand very efficiently... More

My fiancee and I have just spent three nights at this hotel and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and our dining experiences over all. In fact we ate in the hotel for all three nights which we hadn't intended to do. The food was definitely the best part of our stay - the staff worked their... More

My husband and I have eaten here a couple of times in the past and as we had friends over from Lancashire - one of who had a birthday that day - we surprised them with a meal at this hotel. We were a little apprehensive as the friends can be a little fussy but the food and service did... More
