We stayed here as a group of three on a cycle ride to John O'Groats. From the moment we arrived the hospitality couldn't have been better. The welcome was warm, the rooms immaculate, the bathrooms and showers were great and breakfast in the morning was big and hearty! After waking to find our cycling clothes dried and warmed outside our... More

This is a truly lovely home, set in a very quiet and peaceful location. Meg and Bill made me so welcome and couldn't do enough to make my stay a happy one. Room was extremely comfortable and great breakfast. I was sad to leave, but hope to go back before too long.

Carnlea is set in a lovely quiet position just a few minutes' walk from Langholm town centre. We were warmly welcomed on our arrival and we wanted for nothing during our stay. The room was extremely comfortable and breakfast absolutely delicious. Meg and Bill, the hosts, were happy to share their extensive knowledge about the area and the abundance and... More

We arrived on a very wet day and enjoyed a very warm welcome. Our hosts could not have been more helpful and the advice they gave was first class. They recommended the Douglas Hotel for supper and that too was superb in both quality and value. Our breakfast also was of the highest standard and we were genuinely sad to... More

What a perfect spot! We were searching information about our family Clan and Bill and Meg went out of their way to help get us to the perfect areas. First time I had eaten "poridge".'Twas only one of the good choices for breakfast. They were marvelous hosts, we could relax with pleasure and be well rested for the next days... More

Meg and Bill were very helpful for us in finding and setting up visits with places, churches and people on our heritage trip to the Border of Scotland. Their B and B was super and a wonderful relaxing place to spend the evenings after going on the Border Reivers Trail. We both enjoyed their hospitality, home, and true Scottish breakfast.... More

On their business card Meg & Bill Braithwaite describe Carnlea Bed & Breakfast as a 'home from home'. It certainly is - nice people and a nice place. The room and shower were spotless, the beds comfy and there was an overall feeling of ambience. Thanks Meg and Bill for looking after us so well.
