We have just enjoyed a five night stay at a most beautiful old rectory, surrounded by fields and lake! Our room in the main house was the Courtenay room and it was just gorgeous! Loved the decor and the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and we slept really well! Our host Veronica was most charming, helpful and friendly. The... More

Property is in the middle of no where , which must be charming for many , but for me wasn't. The rural setting in the country full of spiders might be charming at any point of time but not this time when i had my infant with me. The rooms are well furnished but old and musty. The place is... More

On first impressions The Old Rectory is an impressive building set in fabulous grounds, with stables, surrounded by paddocks and fields and even has its very own ruin. My family and I, ten of us in total, rented the whole of the accommodation; the stable block with 3 rooms and the main house with 2, which unbeknown to me at... More

Sometimes you visit somewhere you don't want to leave. The Old Rectory is like that. This is all about authentic quality not mere style. With the ruins of a 10th century church in the garden and magnificent, unspoiled views from the patio this is somewhere you can escape the hurly-burly and truly unwind - well I certainly did! I had... More

The Old Rectory at Oxborough is set in idyllic, slightly unkempt grounds with glorious views across fields. Afternoon tea with home-made cake was served on the patio upon arrival and set the scene for a very relaxed, comfortable and peaceful stay. We later enjoyed exploring the garden and admiring several large and very old trees, including a huge Copper Beech,... More

Very late booking accommodated for. Authentic beautiful room (Courtenay) with luxurious en suite. Warm room with good quality bedding and extra blankets. Breakfast was exceptional, laid out in the garden. Minor negatives we're having to walk through the family living room when coming or going from the property. No WIFI password offered. As a personal preference, I found looking at... More

My husband surprised me with a lovely weekend away in Norfolk and I was very pleased that he booked such a lovely B&B. The grounds of the Old Rectory are beautiful and it was a pleasure to be welcomed with a pot of tea and a piece of cake in the drawing room after a long drive. Our room was... More

The room was stunning, as was the ensuite. Unusually the bathroom had a bath which was a real luxury. The room & bathroom were spotless and the hostess was welcoming and extremely helpful in telling us what to do in the local area. The surrounds were beautiful and it's only a 5 minute walk to Oxborough Hall (a national trust... More

Particularly good points: • The welcome by Kathy and showing us tour well appointed rooms without any fuss or delay. My wife and I had the 4 poster bed room in the annex, including the integral en-suite. • Superb breakfasts including grape nuts, cereals and orange juice, cooked breakfasts and copious amounts of coffee and toast. • Referral to the... Stayed here on Saturday night. Lovely property and great welcome. We arrived late and were shown round and provided with a welcomed cup of tea and offered cakes. Our evening meal was also sorted out for us at a local pub, the Berney Arms (which I can also recommend!). We stayed in the Courtenay Room which was a lovely big... More
