Stayed at Kewarra over the Christmas period, had a wonderful time, just a few observations. The check in was excellent, Jane from Lancashire was very professional and welcoming, our bags were taken to the bungalows in no time at all. The grounds are a little tired and in need of some TLC, but saying that they are authentic. Nowhere to... More

I can understand how foreign tourists might enjoy a few nights here given the dense bush/rainforest and abundant wildlife ( although seeing wallabies being chased by stray dogs is not so great) The Bat colony would drive you mad if your room is near them but luckily they are mostly near the entrance. The rooms are tired and probably 20... More

A word of warning, non northern australians: this place is a luxury resort basically within a natural rainforest area. This means there are bats (loud in the morning!) and bugs (bring repellent!) but it also means you are located within the beautiful confines of what feels like a sanctuary. The rooms are lovely, cool (for my not so top end... More

What an amazing stay. Friendly staff and professional. From the moment we checked in we were welcomed with open arms and helpful service. Beach is just at your doorstep and pool is nice and clean. Buffett breakfast is simple but great, but found the dinner menu a little pricey, considering we were staying for 5 nights. So we ordered from... More

What a great find!! I would recommend this resort to anyone. The staff could not do enough to help, fantastic food, great accommodation, swimming pools, grounds and right on the beach. Peaceful location, woken by the calls of birds in the morning rather than traffic!Hope to return before too long!

From reading Trip Advisor reviews expected this place to be a luxury hotel with all the creature comforts. It is not! Air conditioning was ancient and barely working. Room furnishings and bathroom fixtures were circa 1950 and seemed not to have been changed since then, and mind you we had one of the most expensive suites. The pool was very... More

Having stayed at Kewarra multiple times over the years (most recently in November 2014) I still rate this as one of the best hotels in the Tropical North, even though it is showing its age. The grounds and the bungalows are still very comfortable and private, but could use a bit of freshening. Sadly, one freshening project (on the Timara... More

We lucked into finding a package that included two nights at Kewarra, two nights at Silky Oaks Lodge, a day on the reef, and all transfers. If you take this package, make sure you are not charged again when you check out of the second hotel. Kewarra is a gorgeous resort near Cairns, but fortunately in a more quiet, residential... More

This was my 4th stay at the location, initially 1987! on my first visit to Australia. The location is perfect to visit the area and be out of the Cairns bustle. The individual cabins are private if getting a bit tired, i.e. sink was cracked, taps peeling but the staff are still very friendly and welcoming. Big mention for Leanne... More

We stayed for a few days chilling out in the middle of a big trip round Australia. Beautiful grounds with really nice little pools. Can't fault this place - nice rooms, good food and a relaxed atmosphere!
