Just as described in Frommers. House is over 100 yrs old; well preserved, excellent condition. Mike and Pat are gracious hosts, and cook excellent breakfasts. It is very hard to see from the road, so drive slowly and carefully. Redommend the visit to the butterfly sanctuary (see Frommers) and the Wait A While rainforest tour (ditto). Mike or Pat can... more

You don't need a vehicle while staying at Lilybank as the bus stop is convenient and most ,if not all excursions, pick up and return to B & B. Your hosts are accomodating and arrange bookings for you. The rooms are clean and comfortable and a large deck, yard, kitchen and sitting room are at your disposal. The breakfast options... more

We stayed 3 nights at this lovely tropical retreat and thoroughly enjoyed this plantation style house. Breakfast in the patio was fresh tropical fruits with a selection of delicious cooked dishes; all were splendid. Our room was comfortable and air conditioned; there is a common kitchen and beautiful verandas to enjoy the out of doors. This is outside of Cairns,... more

Cairns was our first destination on our 2 week Australian holiday. We selected Lilybank B&B after finding it on the web. It looked & sounded great and it did not disappoint. We had a lovely, generous sized room with a large bathroom with bath and shower. The queen sized bed was extremely comfortable. Adjacent to our room was a community... more

I enjoyed staying in the cottage this last trip to Lilybank as it gave me a lot of peace and quiet and also privacy and I did not feel bad when I was up during the night watching DVDs as well as no one else would have heard me. Breakfasts were a great affair with a wonderful selection of hot... more

We stayed for 4 nights in the cottage room behind the house during late November. While we stayed, Joanna was running te B&B and did an absolutely terrific job of taying on top of tasks, fixing breakfast, helping us decided on and book our travels and helping me find a doctor when I got sick. She was such a joy... more

Wife and I love the ambience of tradtional Queenslander homes and Lilybank is no exception, with its high ceilings, wide verandahs and extensive use of silky oak timbers. This was our third stay at Lilybank, as usual Mike and Pat couldn't have been more helpful with trip advice, ensuring we had the best possible weather for our reef trips. Breakfasts... more

Enjoyable stay in the Cottage, a seperate building at the back of the main property, more than adequate. Good and helpful hosts. Very good breakfast. Couple of shops and eateries and takeaways withing walking distance. Easy bus connection to Cairns. Used the B&B as a base for trips in Queensland. Would recommend. more

Mary Eakin Brisbane Australia. I made a trip to Carins in October and decide to stay at Lily Bank B&B yet again. I did my first trip to Cairns in May 08 and stayed with Pat and Mike in their lovely homely B&B in Stratford Carins. As I was travelling on my own I decided that B&B was the way... more

This was our third trip to Cairns, and I wanted to stay in a wonderful old Queenslander, away from the "resort" concept, and that is just what Lilybank provides. It is like staying in a real home; tropical garden, the sound of birds and frogs, peace and space. The enchanting surroundings and facilities have been well described, ditto the fulsome... more
