Alpenland is set in a farming landscape a short walking distance from the small village of Lauenen. Accordingly, it is quiet and restful with a pleasant ambience. The rooms are generously sized and well designed. There is, however, evidence of a good deal of deferred maintenance - none of it critical but indicative of a property not being kept in... More

Nice hotel, set 5 minutes walk from the tiny village of Launen, right by a bus stop with reliable and regular buses into Gstaad. The hotel is close to Launensee and next to a fast flowing stream, and has a lovely terrace at the back, with great mountain views. This is well used by locals, walkers etc which add atmosphere.... Should be the best hotel on the edge of a small Alpine village of Lauenen, its bar&restaurant always full with locals. Spacious rooms, good food, very quiet, wi-fi connection is avaliable in the room, and quality is good. The rooms are pricey though, but that's usual for Switzerland. Don't miss the wanderweg walk from the hotel to the Lauenen see... More

This is a wonderful Hotel in its class. A charming welcome by the staff and the lady in charge as well as by Yoko, a real Bernese Shepard dog. Nice rooms, well equipped and with a wonderful view. The hotel offers a warm atmosphere, great breakfast buffet with delicious local specialities, such as Ziger cheese and on Sundays the traditional... More

After driving through snooty (and expensive!) Saanen and Gstaad and a winding, narrow road you arrive at what seems like the end of the world/road (the road does continue further up to the lovely mountain lake - great starting point for hikes!). You are at the Alpenland hotel. If your room faces south (you pay more), you get from you... More

We stayed here for two nights while hiking in Switzerland. This is a lovely family-run hotel; peaceful with good-sized rooms. The food is of a very high standard - we ate dinner twice. The view from the large outdoor terrace on a sunny day is fantastic. Certainly a very good location for some summer hiking.

Hotel Alpenland is one of our favorite hotels in the Bernese Oberland. It is peaceful and quiet with a big terrace overlooking the mountains. We just love the staff - they are so authentically friendly, always prepared to help and give advice with a big smile. The rooms are large, clean and very comfortable. The restaurant serves some traditional dishes... More

One aspect of my love for winter sport is to enjoy the rest in silence, surrounded by nature and very very very few people - this hotel did it for us. Excellent staff throughout, very clean rooms, the restaurant is also very good. right in front of the hotel there is also a small ski lift.

A wonderfully situated, clean, comfortable and efficient alpine hotel. Located at the start of a great X-country skiing circuit, as well as at the bottom of a downhill ski-lift, the hotel overlooks a wooded valley, at the end of which three impressive peaks dominate the view: the Spitzhorn, the Galtenhorn and the Wildhorn. Functional, spacious rooms. Excellent restaurant with all... More
