We booked here to stay over night due to attending a wedding at Lumley Castle (which was only a 5 minute taxi ride away £5.50), We emailed the hotel in advance as we wanted to check in early, we had a quick response from Bev and it was no trouble. We also have a free car parking space which is... More

Booked a room here last minute as wanted to see a band play at a nearby pub. Was pleasantly surprised, spotlessley clean, huge rooms, not souless modern style but a real old fashioned inn. Had a great stay, lovely friendly staff who were kean to ensure everything was just right. Only downside a little noise from the street in the... More

Stayed at the hotel for one night and have to say was impressed by the size of room 1. Was a nice room overlooking the front street. The breakfast in the morning only cost £3.50 and was filling, would not like to see the £7.50 breakfast. Probably would have to share it. Only downside of the hotel was single glazed... More

I stayed at the Lambton Arms for three nights whilst visiting friends in the surrounding areas. I booked the room through laterooms.com and upon arrival there was a little confusion as the staff don't get all the required information (or something of the like) from Laterooms, however once that was sorted, I paid, and was shown to my room. The... More

We live nr this establishment so we cannot comment on the accommodation. My husband and I park there every time we pop down to Chester le st and always pop in the the lambton arms for a coffee and a meal cant fault the food.

Very cheap, chips are decent, food took ages to arrive and was average. Absolutely no atmosphere in the pub and there hasn't been for over 20 years. The staff are friendly although half of them seem to be hungover, nice and clean pub so will come back again. You get what you pay for and that.

Pleasant and friendly staff which served a fantastic breakfast :) but unfortunately the overall hotel rooms are in desperate need of refurbishment and decent cleaners. The pleasantness of the people who work there is spoilt by the awful conditions of the rooms - such a shame :(

Stayed two nights over a weekend. It has a great location in that it is a five minutes walk from the train station and right on the main high street. It has a car park and was only a short drive to where we needed to go to. The room was not quite as we had expected. We had room... More

My Dad booked this hotel for my partner and I for one night in February, when we visited. We arrived and they tried to charge us for the room as they had no record of payment. So I had to get my Dad to drive down to the pub with the receipt while he was really busy. They then told... More
