Excellent location, including for access by public transport. Very helpful and friendly staff. Superb location next to Church Mouse public house. Very good value for money if booked well in advance. A little tired in appearance which a coat of paint would soon rectify and please replace the wall-light shades in the bedrooms!

Comfortable, clean and pleasant staff. Always a pleasure to stay in a travelodge. It was easy to find and managed by pleasant helpful staff despite our extremely late arrival. It is always good to know that you can check in at any time no matter how late

I was one of four families that stayed here for 3 nights, to attend a family wedding. The rooms were very clean, and value for money. The staff were very welcoming and accomodating. It was a home from home for 3 days and hope our happiness at all being able to stay together did not affect other guests too much!... More

My wife & I have used this hotel on several occasions, & have been very impressed by the friendly staff & cleanliness & quality of the rooms. We especially appreciated the direct connecting door from the hotel to the excellent Church Mouse pub/restaurant next door. This door was operated by an electrical lock, push button on the hotel side &... More

Good clean room with a good bed. Nice, pleasant and helpful staff who made us feel very welcome. There is a restaurant serving good, interesting food, next door, all at very reasonable prices. Very pleasant hotel for a short stay or to visit the beautiful city of Durham.

This travel lodge was clean and well presented, was directly next door to a fantastic pub restaurant called the "Mouse" which could be accessed directly from the travel lodge itself and I can highly recommend. The usual breakfast offered by the travel lodge the one in a box is to be given a miss as I don't think its value... More

It's a typical Travelodge but all the folk were extremely friendlty and helpful. It is a 40 min walk into the centre of Chester-le-Street or about 10 mins on the bus which goes from just over the road. If you are in the area to visit the towns/cities, the bus continues into Newcatle and the same bus going the other... More

Spent 3 days here, very handy location as local buses running between Durham and Newcastle stop within 100 yards and are very frequent. However, does the remote control have to have the battery compartment screwed down-surely no-one would steal the batteries would they?.Light bulbs were not functioning and the omission of a bath mat meant a trip from the shower was a slippery... Stayed here with our baby daughter who is at the rolling/crawling stage. I was on the floor playing with her only to notice crisps and popcorn under the bed. It was still there when we left 4 days later. Thankfully I noticed it before she did or else she could have swallowed it and/or the clumps of hair that was... More

Whilst not perfect, this was probably the best one night stay I've had in this type of budget accomodation. The plus side:- The staff were friendly, the room was large with a clean, comfortable bed and the venue itself was well situated. The pub next door was lovely albeit a bit pricey but the garden centre just down the road... More
