For one week I was running around the country and my first stop was Consett, about 12 miles away from the hotel. The chain has always been reliable and ever present in most of the towns and cities we go to. Car park is a good size, and there is a pub next door, however they don't do a breakfast... More

The best Travelodge that we have ever been to with it going into the 21st centary with the new shower system and a wet room, the bedding and floor space and new furniture are most welcome. The management and staff that cleaned the rooms brilliant outstanding.

This is the smallest Travelodge we have stayed in but the staff were friendly and the room clean and warm with an excellent power shower. We stayed three days and it is the only place we have ever stayed at where the bed was not made up each day. Throwing the sheet back over does not count! Whilst this is... More

We stayed in a family room which was one of the largest we have stayed in. Beds were comfy and room was spotless. Shower was an electric power shower and the towels provided were very soft. Big TV in the room. Hotel is attached to a Vintage Inn (The Churchmouse) which serves lovely food, the gammon was very good and... More

We stayed at this Travelodge for two nights over New Year . Despite the hotel not yet having undergone renovation the room was clean, comfortable and excellent value. Despite it being the holiday period the staff could not have been more helpful during our stay. We shall definitely stay there again when we visit the North East

Booked this hotel as we had decided we wanted to do something different for New Year's Eve and would need a place to stay. Room was large, clean, comfortable and surprisingly quiet. If fact we never heard another person while we stayed here even thou the car park was nearly full. Checking in was very quick and the girl on... More

Third visit to this Travelodge, to visit family. No complaints, staff are friendly and do there best to help where needed. Room was a bit coo this time, radiator needed bleeding. Shower was poor this time, no pressure, but good value for the money we paid.

Chester Le street, although a former mining town, was once a stopping point for Roman soldiers on their route north. The locals must have been friendly and this is still a place where people are welcomed not as strangers but as friends

The Chester-le-Street Travellodge is the best travel lodge I've stayed in the rooms are clean and well furnished, with comfy beds and a good powerful shower. The staff were helpful and friendly. The pub next door serves nice food and a good selection of ales. A pity it does't do breakfast! All in all a great value stay. Would definitely... More

Lovely clean room over looking countryside with a nice adjorning pub serving good value and tasty food. However, slightly spoilt by the very noisy central heating which woke me up three times both nights. :-(
