We were at a wedding at Lumley Castle and decided to stay in the travelodge. We paid an extra £10 for early check in so in total the room cost us £36! We arrived checked in and the lady on reception couldn't of been more helpful and arranged a taxi to take us to the castle. Room was very spacious... More

Firstly, if you key in the postcode into your sat nav you will end up down Union Street which is not where you want to be. The Travelodge is another 200 yards or so alongside the Chruch Mouse Inn on the left so ignore your sat nav. There is adequate parking space in the Travlodge and adjoining the Church Mouse... More

We stayed here for two nights. The rooms were basic but clean, needs a bit of an upgrade. The towels were changed every day and rooms cleaned every day. The beds were a bit uncomfortable. Great pub adjoining with a varied menu.

When we first arrived in the room we noticed how dark and cold it was, the shower was filthy, and the lights where covered with dead flies, a childs sock was left on the radiator from a previous guest, and one of the teaspoons had the remains of someones breakfast on it.

Very friendly staff, had family room which was spacious. Very tired furniture and the bed was diabolical so very uncomfortable i just could not sleep. It stated on web site it had not been updated BUT still cost the same as a refurbished hotel. Wont be staying in another travel lodge. There were luxury hotels for not much more money.... More

We stayed here for one night (3rd August)while travelling around and must say this was a lovely little hotel. The location is just over 2 miles from the town centre of Chester-Le-Street, which has some lovely old churches and beautiful countryside to spend the day wandering around. The welcome was friendly and the receptionist professional in her welcome, but a... More

The hotel staff where quite friendly and helpful but the room was a bit tired and badly illuminated , because of the ground floor location I was unable to open the curtains without everybody arriving or leaving the building looking in so good lighting was essential . Unfortunately the bed side and wall lights were all very ancient looking and... More

We stopped here for a night when visiting Newcastle. We had stayed in the Newcastle Travelodge the previous night and did not have a very good experience and our stay at this one was just the opposite! The lady on Reception was very friendly and professional and our room was clean and basic (it IS a budget hotel after all!)... More

Excellent location, including for access by public transport. Very helpful and friendly staff. Superb location next to Church Mouse public house. Very good value for money if booked well in advance. A little tired in appearance which a coat of paint would soon rectify and please replace the wall-light shades in the bedrooms!
