We recently stayed here whilst attending a wedding reception at the castle which was very convenient as it was just 4 mins down the road. The seperate pub added extra convenience for food and with 2 children with us was perfect (food a tad over priced but still very good) The room was a family room and just had all... More

I wouldnt advise anyone to use this hotel, the staff are rude and abrupt!!! My bedroom was dirty, with plastic cups in the bathroom having been used before as they had toothpaste around the bottom. The facilites were not up to scratch the lamp had black burn marks all over it, we were placed in a room right next to... More

I stay here often on business , it is a basic hotel , but it is very clean and excellent value for money. The previous reviews that the rooms are cold it could not be further from the truth they are warm and cosy, the other traveller must not have turned the heating up on radiator. I love staying here... Ok! So it's the middle of April but we are in England and its cold outside. You expect to be a bit warmer in your hotel room BUT in this establishment either there is something wrong with the heating-doubtful- as the running water was hot. It's more like they don't switch on the heating for the room radiators. I won't... More

This hotel is not up to the usual standards of Travelodge. I understand that they took it over a couple of years ago, and have not yet adjusted it to their corporate standards. it is definitely tired! However I must pay respect to the various staff we met over our weeks stay. They can only be described as excellent. They... More

Absolutely love this hotel room is spacious and welcoming and the room was warm and toasty on arrival for us. this is a fantastic find and would definitely stay here again. only downside is that it is poorly signpostes so we got lost but certainly no complaints about the room.

I booked 4 rooms here including a disabled room for our trip to the north east for a family gathering. The rooms were spotlessly clean, warm, comfy beds, plenty towels and a very friendly receptionist who was extremely helpful.

My husband and I booked two nights at this particular hotel as it was close to family and convenient for our trip to the area. We booked a family room and was quite surprised at how nice it was, disappointed it didn't have a bath only a shower so therefore we had our 16 month old daughter stay with her... More

Had lunch here recently, the first time for a few years. As always the place looks really welcoming and cosy with a real fire burning and the menu sounds inviting, but the food is only acceptable and not particularly cheap. I wont be rushing back.

My wife & I have just returned from a two night stay at this particular Travelodge, and were particularly impressed by the very helpful reception staff. The room itself was very clean, comfortably appointed, and the bathroom & shower facilities were excellent. The proximity of the adjoining Vintage Inn (The Church Mouse - see separate review), which is accessible via... More
