This hotel is at a very good location, being bang at the centre of Narkanda. The rooms are sparse in facilities, the matresses,pillows,bedsheets etc are quite old. I went with 2 of my friends and stayed in Dec. 2012 for 2 nights. Location of this property is awesome but the people managing it are awful. Service in practical doesn't exist. The morning walk (roaming around) at hotel will rejuvenate, reenergise you for the day. Such a beautiful location and when you are having morning tea in hotel lawn, you will simply get lost in the surrounding beauty and breathtaking views. Went to The Hatu in end of June 2012. Ordered 8 cups of Tea and Snacks. It took the restaurant people more than 45 minutes to serve us just tea. This is my 3rd visit to the hotel in last 3 years. Very good location with great view. Food is good but cleanliness is not great. As it is government property, you can see the lower service standard. But the location offsets the service. I will stay in "the Hatu" next year also.
