The Novotel consists of several very clean bungalows all located very close to the lagoon. There is no sand beach "per se" (actually Rangiroa is not really the place to go for large sandy beaches anyway, there are very few of those), but the area is good for snorkelling and just lazying in the sun. The bungalows the farthest from... more

Spend the extra money for the Lagoon Front Bungalow. It is worth it! The food was outstanding at every meal. It does help to speak French here. The island market is two doors down the street. If you are a diver, you will be amazed at what there is to see. Can't wait to come back! more

I chose Rangiroa for the diving, so did not require or expect a luxury full service resort. The resort location is OK, close to the airport (noise not a problem) and midway between the 2 villages with more facilities (6km either direction) so you need a pricey scooter/car hire to get there. While there was a shop and restaurant nearby... more

My husband and I ended our 10 day trip to French Polynesia with three nights at the Novotel Rangiroa. We chose this island because my husband is a diver, and wanted to be able to experience the diving here. We chose this hotel to save a little on our budget. We were greeted at the airport with a flower, and... more

We stayed at the Novotel Rangiroa only because the Kia Ora was fully booked. The hotel itself is nice: good sized rooms, nice view of water, nicely decorated bar/restaurant, nice but small grounds. Bungalow windows had screens. The cleaning staff are so sweet. That's where the goodness ends. The French ladies who work in reception don't quite understand the term... more

Rangiroa itself was beautiful, which is the only reason I'm not giving this the worst rating. The staff here are awful! They are rude and couldn't care less about guests. I signed up a day in advance for the Pearl Farm visit, and was told by the hotel desk clerk to "meet in the lobby at 10 AM" the following... more

My family spend 3 nights in the garden bungalows. (we had a double which was good for us, some of the gardens are singles). There is a minor difference in the categories of bungalows, the cheaper ones in the back are just fine. The grounds are small. The rooms were nice, comfortable, and in a local flavor (I was nervous they... more

Rangiroa is principally a dive location but there is some good snorkelling - but in surprisingly few locations. Rooms at the hotel are lovely but for Brits travelling its a bit like being in France. Staff command of english is limited and though there is plenty of local fish on the menu much of the rest of the fare is... more

We stayed at the Novotel Rangiroa Beach Resort at the very beginning of high season (early June) 2006. The atoll is very beautiful and quite sleepy and peaceful. It has a good location (in the center of the main motu between Tiputa and Avatoru) and the rooms are very comfy and clean. Unfortunately, the rude and useless nature of the... more

Great staff. "Gabby" coordinates activities there and he tends to use the "6 passenger dive shop" on Rangi. Good Value. We got a great room rate with breakfast from their Accord.com site. French Polynesia can be pricey and it nice to save a few francs on lodging - on at least part of your trip :) Nearby larger Kia Ora... more
