I could not find a better way to gently face India than staying ad Devaaya Ayurveda Resort in Divar Island Goa. The hilly resort was originally called "pleasure Island" and it is still true. From the awakening with an hour of yoga ( salute the sun ) to the great ayurveda breakfast, from the morning treatments and the fantastic vegetarian... More

The only complaint I have is that I did not have enough time to spend here. From arriving at the gates of Devaaya you are made to feel like a special guest. The retreat is situated on the only island in Goa, and the journey there takes you on a ferry, through picturesque villages, lots of greenery and Goa-style houses.... More

We didn't have the time to stay for a full week or two, but followd a recommendation of friends, in order to get to know the place really. So we cannot assess the ayurvedic side of things much, we didn't really detox nor meditate. Which seems to be the major bonus of the place judging from friend's experience. So this... More

Two weeks at Devaaya was relaxing and left us both feeling revitalised. This was a return visit, after an earlier brief visit, and we enjoyed it for its peacefulness, happy service and focus on a healthy lifestyle. The Medical staff were most professional and attentive and the Massage team were terrific and we now feel totally revitalised and better able... More

This has been the most exciting discovery of 2013. It is such a perfect place to relax, detox, meditate. Of course no meat, alcohol or cigarettes but personally did not miss any of the three. The massages are paid for, all rest like the meals etc and ayurvedic consultations are included in the room rates.

Devaaya is the only hotel/resort in this quaint little island in the heart of Goa. Once you are there you are surrounded by silence, peace and tranquility. Beautifully designed villas are a treat for the eyes with the rooms being large and well appointed. Ours opened to the backwaters of the Mondovi river and it was soothing to just sit... More

Away from the beaches and bustle of old Goa, this resort is a perfect place to relax. It is set in a peaceful country landscape. From the moment you arrive the staff make you feel comfortable with their open greetings and friendly service. Its purpose is ayuervedic treatment and in this they excel. You immediately appreciate the professIonal approach from... More
