If you last camped as a Girl Guide and tents have long since left your comfort zone, then Quatermain's is still an option to get away from it all without giving up on the basic amenities of an en suite bathroom with toilet and hot shower. Added to this are great game drives with very knowledgeable guides who do their... More

After a road trip from Cape Town and along the Wine Route we had booked to stay at Quatermains on advice from a Tripadvisor reviewer. We liked the looked of the tents and the thought of staying"in the bush"...but don't be fooled, you will be totally blown away!! You arrive and pull off the main highway, leaving your vehicle at... Iran and Julie Brand run a tent safari experience similar to what early explorers might have experienced. These are simply camp tents that recently they added warm showers and toilets. Most of the meals are cooked over the open wood pit. (They do have a propane stove for breakfast and other meals.) The guides ( they prefer to be called... More

We stayed at Quartermains Camp for 2 nights. The owners Riaan and Julie are very friendly, and the guides Yvonne and Greg do have a lot of knowledge. Games drives were absolutely perfect, especcialy Shamwari. We have seen the big five in only one day, and very close. The camp is set up in the middle of the bush, it... More

We stayed at Quartermains this January and had an amazing time... Like many of the previous reviews we loved the fact that we were living out in the bush albeit in beautiful en-suite tented accommodation. Whilst we were there only one other couple shared the camp with us meaning we had Yvonne,Criag and the owners Riaan and Julie to ourselves.... More

Did a one night Safari at Amakhala Quatermains Camp. This consisted of a game drive just after arrival which ended during darkness. A fabulous BBQ dinner cooked on the open camp fire, and a morning game drive before departure. This camp is family run and the owners and staff are very warm and welcoming. Yvonne one of the rangers is... More

We LOVED our time at the Quatermain's Camp! It was our first ever safari and absolutely blew our minds... I had tears in my eyes actually several times, because the safaris were such special moments! You will have to make your own experience, but we can ABSOLUTELY recommend you have that at the beautiful Quatermain's Camp! It is a pure... More

From 5 star lodges in South Africa, to camping in a 2 man tent in Namibia, I have done a fair number of Safari's, but have to say Quartemain's have got it just right. The 1920's feel of the camp takes you back in time to an era when Safari's were Safari's. Amakhala and Shawari are beautiful reserves, the guides... More

I heard about Quartermain's Camp through a friend of mine, and we were not dissapointed! What an absolutely perfect way to experience the African bush. Being South African we spend quite a bit of time on game farms, but I had never tried a tented camp before! (except for camping in my own tent!) It has the perfect blend of... More
