This 8000 Ha estate close(ish) to Port Elizabeth used to be a collection of ranchland which formed a co-operative to create a game reserve. This, in itself, is much to be applauded. We were treated royally and comfortably and had an outstanding experience. We had a problem on the first evening with traffic noise from the distant N9 but later... More

Stayed here for a few nights at the end of my short trip to South Africa. Easily the best part of my trip. The rooms are very comfortable and gives you the unique experience of getting close to nature. The view from my bed was breathtaking. The staff at the lodge were very friendly and they really made you feel... More

My husband and I stayed here for two nights at the end of our honeymoon along the garden route, and we couldn't have been happier that we chose Bush Lodge. Our entire stay from start to finish was just perfect. The tented lodges are beautiful, with free standing baths, a log fire which is lit and waiting for you when... More

From the minute we arrived the staff were very attentive, nothing was too much trouble. Our luxury tent was fantastic, loved the bath and wood burner. Food was excellent and well presented and our glasses were never empty! Enjoyed the game drives and the whole safari experience, special thanks to Tim for his friendly banter and wealth of knowledge.

Trip to Bush Lodge and Amakhala has been wonderful. Brilliant staff, friendly and experienced rangers, clean, big and luxury lodges, good food, great timing and service. Game trips have been very exciting, well organised and fun! Would come back anytime!

The staff couldn't do enough here to help you. From the moment we checked in until when we left they did everything they could to help. The hot chocolate on arrival back from the afternoon safari was very welcomed as we were so cold from the wind. Loved the touches of the fire having been lit whilst out on the... More

We have spent three unforgettable days in Bush Lodge in Amakhala Game Reserve. Every moment was an experience. The room was very spacious and luxurious. The most interesting feature for me was the outdoor shower. Taking a shower at night under the stars was priceless. The plunge pool at the deck was also very pleasant, where you can sip your... My wife and I spent our 22nd wedding anniversary at the Amakhala Bush Lodge owned by Rod & Tracy Weeks. The weather was lousy but the great hospitality more than made up for that. We own our own lodges and have a good idea what it takes to make it all run smoothly. They do a great job.

During the trip we had the pleasure of staying at BUSH LODGE on the Amakhala Game reserve. I stayed in room 5 which was located just to the left of the main lodge. This room is ideal for Honeymooners or couples wanting a little extra privacy. The rooms were very spacious and luxurious. The rooms are tented with lovely wooden... More
