1kg tbone with fries and bernaise and side salad for 2 served with a very drinkable glass each of Siete Soles cab sav £19 each. Best steak outside of London and trust me I enjoy a steak. Cracking value and as I have eaten here before a number of times i can highly recommend the standard menu. Enjoy!

I was emailed on Monday 1st Feb with T-bone steak meal offer and proceeded to book meal that evening. This was a bad move as although ambiance and service were good, the quality of meat was poor and the accompaniment of chips cooked from the freezer didn't help matters. I have never resorted to posting on TripAdvisor before but when... More

Being fans of their sister place, the Bricklayer's Arms in Flaunden, we had been intending to stay here for ages. We initially booked a room here for my birthday in November, but, due to a domestic disaster, couldn't go. We called and the staff were amazing and honoured our booking, despite short notice, allowing us to put it off for... More

Great welcome, nicely decorated for Christmas, we'd found this recommended in a variety of guides. We wanted to see Great Missenden because of it's Ronald Dahl connections. Enjoyed a brief stroll through Great Missenden (see review for Cafe Twit) then a couple of minutes drive to the Nag's Head. Not a massive gastro pub, this is very comfortable fine dining... More

We live locally and regard this as our local. But it still manages to surprise us with its food. It's the sort of pub where you can still just drop in and have a pint by the roaring fire ( or in the good garden in fine weather) , but it also serves extremely good food, and today excelled. Interesting... More

We had Sunday lunch here , food and service was very good, had a fantastic wine list, the pub is really cosy and had a lovely Christmas feel about it, it was very busy but well organised but I would suggest you booked first

Looking for bed and breakfast near Chesham, the usual high price chain hotel was full. So I looked elsewhere and so glad I did! The Nags Head was a very pleasant surprise, I booked at 2pm and arrived about 5.30pm, our room was ready. Clean and comfortable with a large bathroom, just had to duck to go through the doors... This pub has a very good restaurant with a lot of imagination put into the menu and very good quality food and service. The accommodation was terrible. The room was very small just about big enough for the bed.The bed itself was a framed bed and falling apart. The ensuite was very compact particularly the toilet area where when sitting... More

Stopped off for a light bite after a local walk. Very accomplished menu along with special lunch menu and a wide choice of wine. Very good soup and deliciously crunchy tripple cooked chips. Clean, nice decor, friendly staff. Posh nosh at the top end price wise for a Gastro pub.
