We stayed in hotel in last January on 13th and 14th. We planed our trip to Jambughoda and surrounding place including chhota udeipur and decided to stay at Hotel Champaner at Manchi, Pavagadh. Since it was a first time we were using government hotel, we were suspicious about its quality. But it was really a good choice. Rooms were specious,... More

Run by the Gujarat Tourism Dept, need I say more. + points, huge rooms with balconies which afford a great view, a big bathroom to boot. affordable stay and food. ample parking and pretty close to the ropeway. - points, the rooms need sprucing up. the furniture and linen are pretty worn out, and the staff is looking for tips.... Our friends group of seven decided to go to Champaner & Pavagarh for 2nights & 3 days by cars. We had booked four bedrooms in advance. On reaching the hotel, to our surprise, we found the Hotel at an excellent location, at a height on the way to the Pawagarh Mahakali Temple. The rooms are decent, clean and comfortable. The... More

Hotel Champaner is halfway up Pavagadh and a great little spot. There are frequent shared jeeps from outside the citadel at the bottom of the hill. The rooms have balconies where you can relax in the shade overlooking the stunning view. The rooms have a few cobwebs and the shower isn't great but it's fine. The staff are friendly, particularly... This hotel is being managed by Gujarat Tourism so i was not hopeful about my stay there but surprisingly the stay was comfortable. Cottages are spacious and having all facilities. Do no expect the 3 star or 5 star facility. At a place like Pavagadh such hotels are hard to find. Hotel is very near to the mandir. Walking distance... More

Finding this place is an achievement in itself... if you can get to the Pavagadh bus station (there's a direct bus from Baroda/Vadodara or you can just look helpless at intermittent bus stations along the way until someone takes pity and puts you on the right vehicle) then you've done very well... all you have to do from there is...
