This is an excellently situated hotel with very friendly staff. However, I would say that our room was rather cramped and had a humdrum view of a bit of field. Being on the second floor it did not receive wifi. The pool is round the back and locked so you have to get the key to be admitted which does... More

Four of us stayed at El Hoyal whilst on a private trip with Teresa Farino as our leader. (Iberianwildlife.com) Set amidst wonderful wild natural scenery we were able to see Golden Eagle and many butterfly species very locally. Longer day trips were an opportunity to see many orchids just at their peak and other wild flowers too special and secret... More

We stayed four nights at the El Hoyal hotel and will be returning again. Our holiday was centred around a walking holiday and to visit family in the North of Spain, in fact it was my Brother who recommended El Hoyal and for once he was spot on. The setting around the hotel is superb, with stunning scenery in every... More

Our room was largish and had a lovely balcony. The bath was extremely small, but still a bath rather than a shower. We found a 9:00 pm dinner too late to cope with and did not relish the drive to Potes and back in order to eat earlier. In all, it was the isolation of the hotel that made it... More

I'm in 2 minds about El Hoyal. Its an attractive building but the corridors are bit cramped as are the rooms. Dinner is not served until 9pm which is certainly a consideration if you have a young family. I found it quite expensive and the meal was fine but certainly did not merit more than one dinner. We preferred going... More

Stayed here for 4 nights and really enjoyed our visit. The rooms are immaculate and the food was well cooked, typically Asturian food .The pork ribs are the best I have ever tasted! The hosts are friendly and able to speak some English which helped as we have only a little Spanish. The posada is well situated for walking and... More

We stayed for two nights at the hotel as part of our tour of northern spain. It is a lovely rural hotel with great scenery, within easy reach of Potes but away from the tourist bustle. the outdoor swimming pool is a real bonus The restaurant serves quality food and it is extremely good value and the wine list is...
