In general this is a pleasant place but I had two specific problems which were not addressed by the owners. My room was no. 5, adjacent to the kitchen on the ground floor and the first night I was woken by noises at 4.30 a m. The owners finally agreed that there was an early morning delivery Friday mornings but... More

By far the majority of our guests check in with a smile and a happy manner, intent on enjoying their stay with us. We chat together and it is a pleasant experience for both them and us. On (thankfully) very rare occasions we have guests who arrive with a miserable demeanor who, despite all our efforts, do not and will... More

The Kinlochewe Hotel served delicious butternut squash soup and lunch served with very good bread which encouraged us to sample the evening menu. The food we ate there was the best we had in all the hotels we ate in during our Scotland holiday. We also went to Loch Lomond, Gairloch and Loch Maree where my mother stayed. I enjoyed... More

Thank you for your lovely comments. We really do appreciate you taking the time to share your experience here with others. We try very hard to provide tasty, home cooked meals that are away from the normal style of "pub food". We are very lucky in having some great local produce to work with - and a wonderful chef who... I didn't stay overnight at the hotel but a friend was staying at their hostel so we had dinner here. First we had to wait until 6.30 for food service to start even though we were starving after a big day of hillwalking. I also noted that access to wifi was shut off after 6 PM: how generous! The proprietor... More

I am not sure quite how to respond to your review! Is it unreasonable to start dinner service at 6.30pm? Most of our customers wish to eat at 7pm and very few have requested to eat earlier than 6.30pm. Perhaps a packet of crisps or nuts would have staved off the pangs of hunger! With regard to your comments about... More

I understand that a remote location can charge London prices, however £9.50 for a soup and sandwich felt very pricy to me. Especially when it was supermarket brown bread and not a cucumber or salad garnish in sight. I did ask why my sandwich had no salad / crisps garnish (just for colour and presentation more than anything - what... More

I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed the taste of our "yummy" casserole and "delicious potato bread" and am sorry if you feel that paying that wee bit extra for home cooked food is not worth it. Our menu is quite clear how our food is served and presented. I am sorry if you felt that you should have... More

Very friendly staff and a vital part of the Kinlochewe community. Excellent place to stay for a cosy night away from the midges. I have been up here working for weeks and had a great time. Great chef and a good craic in the bar.

We ate here for both nights of our stay in Kinlochewe (at the B&B). The food was excellent and my husband was in seventh heaven over the whiskies. The landlord was very knowledgable about the whiskies, which made it even better. They have a standard menu, plus specials. The specials we tried were fillet of rossshire beef, thalami, and the... We stayed elsewhere in Kinlochewe because the hotel was already fully booked. However we ate i the hotel bar/restaurant 2 nights in a row and the food was extremely good. However the best part was the extensive whisky selection (they even have a whisky menu with ~75 drams listed), and the very friendly landlord who was willing and able to... More

Sometimes it is difficult to choose which of our extensive selection of whiskies to enjoy so Andrew spent a L O N G time creating our very own whisky menu with suggestions and tasting notes to aid the decision. He is also very happy to "talk whisky" with other aficionados any time! a fascinating subject. We are very pleased to... More

Just returned from a 2 night stay at this hotel. It was a very pleasant experience. The food was excellent ( best fillet steak I have ever tasted) and the staff helpful and polite. The range of real ales is superb. I would not hesitate to recommend.

This is really more a B&B than a hotel, but I guess the owners are making improvements bit by bit to make it more upmarket. The room was OK, but the bathroom I had was cold. The room was quiet and the bed comfy. There's a fine selection of beers and whiskies in the bar, although they weren't best kept.... More

We actually have a "Peace and Quiet" policy, hence the lack of televisions - which, many of our guests enjoy and come here because of it. This area is mainly geared to walkers and climbers and people here for the landscape who want peace and quiet. So we make no apology for this. I am glad you enjoyed your meal... More

The hotel is pretty basic, but quite pleasant. The lounge is comfy and welcoming. Food is served in the bar, which has a very wide range of whiskies. Breakfast was nice. Dogs are allowed which must be a big plus point for dog owners. There is no TV in the bedrooms, which is very unusual these days, but not an... More
