We booked for one night to join family on their holiday. The place was very busy but we were made very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. We ate lunch on arrival gorgeous food at reasonable prices. Hubby loved the real ale and I enjoyed the cider. Shame we could only spend one night. The breakfast was amazing local... More

I came here for a few drinks with my partner and friends. The garden is so nice and well-preserved. There is always a pleasant atmosphere here and the staff are always so nice. The drinks we had were nice too. Cannot fault this place even if I tried!

We visited the fleece with a friend one afternoon, intending to have a drink in the garden and then a bite to eat when the kitchen opened. We were quite put out to have a 'reserved' sign drop on the table in front of us. So of course we looked around for another place to sit, only to find that... More

Invited round to see old mates, they stayed overnight, we joined them for a couple of drinks. The Fleece was originally built in the 1700s. It is a thatched building with so much history and character. Our friends said the rooms were comfortable, and the food is really nice. The service was good in a nice atmosphere. Around 7.30 a... The Fleece Inn is owned by the National Trust and is an amazing venue, We stayed in the only room in this historic inn ( check the website ), also ate in the amazing dining/bar area. Excellent breakfast and interesting chat with the landlord about the history of the place. Highly recommended!

I frequently visit this pub whilst visiting my family who are from the area. This is a beautiful country pub, owned by the National Trust, which is full of history, standing in the centre of a beautiful area of the village. I have not eaten here so can't comment on food. Visiting the fleece is like visiting a museum, it... More

An old farm house converted to a pub which is then protected by the National Trust.....and well deserved. It houses the oldest pewter collection, origional log fires and querky doorways. You can also stay overnight and hire the barn for private functions. The pub sits in its own orchard and is a stunning area to sit and drink their own... More

Had a good supper at the pub. Menu suited more the men of our group. Big meat dishes. Enjoyed the homemade desserts to finish off with. Kids meals were very large and good value. (Need to add vegetables to kids meals as had to pay extra for a side veg...)

5 of us had a fabulous evening dining at the Fleece. Such a great welcome too. Our table was in a wee side room by the blazing open fire, and each table had a beautiful vase of fresh Easter white perfumed flowers which was a lovely touch. My Duck was the best I have ever had, so moist and beautifully... More

This is the third time we have visited recently. Amazing location and beautiful building. The service was friendly and attentive. I had the pie and it was delicious, I would strongly recommend. The star of the show was definitely the sticky toffee pudding, it is superb. Lovely grub.
