Really great campsite excellent facilities which where included in the pitch price no extra costs for showers etc. Great friendly family atmosphere. The owners were nice people helpful and knowledgeable about the local area been in NZ a while definitely one of the best I've been to!

We rolled up here having had an eventful journey, being "bogged" in the sand round lake Taupo and having been stopped by the police because a lorry driver thought that a Jucy van shouldn't be able to overtake it! ( we were let off with a smile as we are an older couple not a van of youths!), to a... More

We parked up our motor home here on a roomy pitch with power. It's a super site with great facilities and amenities. The owners are extra helpful and informative. The herb garden - help yourself - is an admirable extra, and the riverside location a treat (although watch out for those sandflies!). Right next to a lovely walk through native... More

We spent a tranquil night here in our motorhome. We were very warmly welcomed, offered additional extras for our cooking (including from the awesome herb garden!) and were able to pick our site. The kitchen, showers and bathrooms are immaculate. Showers are excellent pressure, bath mats add a nice touch that most campsites don't offer. Microwaves and a camper swap-shop... More

Spent a night at the Holiday Park before going on the Forgotten Highway Adventure. Very welcoming host. We had a campervan and a cabin for our party of 4. Good standard of accommodation and all facilities were of a high standard. A well equipped kitchen has a very nice shaded outdoor eating area and tubs of herbs that we were... More

This place is convenient, and has all the amenities - kitchen, BBQ, showers, power, water, laundry (extra but much cheaper than in town), and dumping station. Everything is included in the price - so no surprises. The area is quite open so not much privacy.

We stayed two nights in the "Kiwi Cottage" (shown in the picture above) and it was very comfortable. The cottage was great, as it rained a fair bit while we were there and we were happy not to be in a tent! We did the Timber Trail bike ride, so this was our base and it was perfect. Paul from... Spent 2 nights here 1 before doing the Whanganui journey in a tent and one after in a cabin. I have stayed in hundreds of campsites over the years and this is one of the best. Only bad point was no free wifi best touch was the free herb and veggy garden

Of all the places we stayed at during our campervan trip around the North Island in September 2012, this was definitely one of our favourites. It's nothing particularly special in it's location or facilities but there's a real charm about this place and we found it very welcoming and relaxing. It's by a pretty spot next to a river and... We stayed here yesterday. Good value for money. From the outside you can see paint peeling off and looks to be in a sorry state. Inside its got a musty smell. Bad things end here... Great location, hosts are very friendly. We forgot to bring blankets and I wanted it for 2 people, Host gave us a whole lot of... More
