This is a reasonably dated Motel but the rooms are clean. As the other reviews say the lower level drive way needs to be re-paved. No complaint with the bathroom – nice and spacious with a spa bath – shower has good pressure. Bed seemed a little uncomfortable at the start but in saying that I had a good night’s... More

This is quite an old motel and the decor is very dated, but it was clean and quiet. It has a bar and restaurant attached. Don't expect fine dining cuisine but the food was good home cooked fare. Very casual check in procedure and we thought the owners could be a little friendlier and more engaging but they were busy.... More

We found ourselves stranded in Taumaranui due to road closures and in need of a place to spend the night. Easily found off the main road we pulled into Central Park Motor Inn. Which is about the only positive thing to say. The beds were unbelievably uncomfortable and the bedding whilst clean was very dated and the bedcover was the... More

The rooms are ok but very expensive for what they are. One little fan heater struggles to heat a room in Taumarunui in winter. Kiwi host course wouldn't go a miss. Restaurant is once again expensive for what it is, rubbery dry chicken. No asking did we want dessert or a coffee

OMG where do I start, we walked into the foyer to the overwhelming smell of old deep fried fat, wafting from the restaurant. The receptionist was pleasant and booked us in as she taped up her shoe with Sellotape. She mentioned that the units we were in were yet to be updated and were close to the road. We booked... More

Really happy to recommend this Motor Inn, we were after a quiet motel with a Spa Bath after a family trip over the Tongariro crossing. We were pleased to find this motel and would stay again. It would be a good base for trips to National Park in all seasons as the mountains are not far away (45mins to Tongariro... More

I stayed one night at this motor inn. It's reasonably modern and very clean, but only average quality fittings. The owner/operator is very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is a bit bizarre - the furnishings and menu scream of the 90s! I didn't eat dinner there because of the strange and expensively priced assortment of dishes but had the continental... My wife and I stayed 2 nights at this motel as we did the "Forgotten World Adventure" (see review) and we wanted to have a leisurely trip. We had an Executive King Spa Studio suite which was clean, spacious and comfortable. For such a large establishment (30 units) it was remarkably quiet. The motel appears to be aimed principally at... The rooms in this motel are fine-nicely furnished and with quite comfortable beds. The motel cat will make you feel very welcome! However the whole place has just been missing the mark for years and the owners just don't seem to be prepared to make the relatively minor changes needed to turn average into first choice in this town. While... More

I stayed two nights and also used the conference facilities at this motel. My room was spacious, well-equipped and comfortable and I had a spa bath, which was very enjoyable! I felt there were a number of minor 'details' which could be slightly improved - better first impression when you check in, signs in the rooms to show where things... More
