A hotel with an excellent view of stunning scenery, ideally placed with plenty car parking adjacent to hotel. Friends and I had an enjoyable local walk rounded off with our lunch in the Mariner. Fairly busy venue serving average food, although food was plentiful and reasonably priced.

Every time its a nice night and that's not very often we go for a drive along the coast . Kippford is a very nice place, the hotel is very nice. The food is slightly above average and plentiful. The staff are friendly. The problem is the owners who operate on a fairly surly , off hand , couldn't care... More

Had a great day out with friends, finished it off with a great meal at the mariner .The food for all of our party was excellent ,the service was superb and the beer was spot on . We all said that we would be back again as soon as we can.It was busy when we we were there.

I found the Mariner on Google and was pleased that I was able to have a room at short notice. I arrived at 19:50 and was shown to my room which faced the sea. Straight to the bar I went and decided on Red - the wine was on draught which would not be my normal way of trying wine,... More

Spent a couple of days camping at a near by site and dined both nights at the Mariner Hotel. First and foremost the views from the hotel are fantastic. A truly wonderful location and very peaceful and relaxing. The hotel is in good order and has a very pleasant bar and dining area looking across the estuary. The service at... More

The hotel was just what I wanted. We were stopping off en route after a trip to Northern Ireland with my elderly parents. We had 2 lovely rooms, both overlooking the river. The rooms were clean and comfortable with all we needed, we all slept well. We had tea here and also breakfast, both very enjoyable. Our hosts looked after... More

Cold day so were looking forward to nice cosy Sunday lunch. Hmmm pretty boring food and had keep our jackets on. Won't be heading back sadly. Main meals cost around £9 and didn't seem homemade, very bland!

We have just returned from a short break to Kippford. We ate at the Mariners twice and had very good meals each visit. The staff were extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. We could take our dog with us which was a big bonus. The food was good value for money and vegetarians were well catered for.

The bar staff were grumpy, the tables filthy and sticky, the kids enjoyed their burgers, served with old salad, my vegetarian lasagne was tasteless slop, will not go there again. The area is stunning, gorgeous sunsets and scenery.
