This was a return for us and everything was as good as last time. Location is superb close to a wonderful unspoiled section of coastline. House in beautiful quiet setting and all very comfortable. Hosts very courteous and thoughtful including sending us details prior to our visit re. eating out. Breakfast first rate, nice selection to choose from including local... More

We visited the the Old Rectory for 2 nights in April 13 after finding it online, and It was just as it looked on the screen. The house is in a beautiful location and only a stones throw from the sea and the Coastal Path walks. David and Christine made us really welcome and our room 'Holly' had everything we... More

Came back in March to take advantage of the 'three nights for two' offer to find everything just as lovely as last time. David and Christine gave us the usual lovely welcome. Our 'usual' room - Holly - was as comfortable as ever. We defy anyone to find a breakfast as good as theirs anywhere!

Having spent 3 nights here we can honestly say it is perfect. Everything is done to the highest standards with breakfast being an absolute treat - local Craster kippers, heavenly porridge, full English etc! Linda looked after us at breakfast wonderfully with her lovely manner and great personality. The house is beautifully maintained as was our room Holly, again with... More

The Old Rectory in Howick is the kind of bed and breakfast that you really don't want to leave and our four night stay simply wasn't long enough. Christine and David have a beautiful home in a really tranquil and peaceful location, such peace and quiet and we were lucky enough to see a woodpecker on the bird feeders outside... More

We spent 3 nights here, whilst visiting family in the area and en route for The Highlands. Howick is on the stunning Nurthumbria coastal path, a 10 minute drive from Alnwick. The building is beautifully built and maintained, with a welcoming garden and hallway. Christine and David are incredibly friendly and have equipped the rooms to a very high standard.... More

We knew the Old Rectory was special before we came because our fellow reviewers said so. Little did we realise how special. Northumberland is stunning, even in rubbish weather because everyone is friendly has a wonderful smiling welcome and so far all the food is 5*. The old rectory has wonderful rooms, its peaceful and breakfasts which are so tasty.... More

Thank you David and Christine for a lovely welcome. We really enjoyed our stay in your lovely home. We can't fault anything about our stay and would wholeheartedly recommend the Old Rectory to everyone who wants a tranquil setting, a comfortable bedroon and a big breakfast. Helen liked the music too. You wouldn't care to adopt us, would you? Alan... More

This is a wonderful B&B. Excellent reception from the owners. Nice big room and bathroom (Jack). Breakfast lovely - kippers, smoked salmon, perfect scrambled eggs and then the porridge! When we read the reviews we thought - what's so special about porridge? Well this is made with honey, cream, dried fruit and nuts and cooked overnight in the Aga- try... More
