We selected the Old Rectory for it's location and weren't disappointed. The house is lovely, furnishing is a little 'twee' and would not necessarily be to everyone's taste. We felt it needed a bit of updating and the room was decidedly dusty. A real bonus is the fridge in the room with fresh milk and bottled water provided. David and... More

We are delighted you enjoyed your stay in our home and could take advantage of our glorious location in the AONB and on the Coastal Path. Friendly chat round the breakfast table we find is the norm and the Craster kippers are a must! More

We have just spent 3 wonderful days on the Northumberland coast, staying at the Old Rectory, Howick in room Jill. This is the most beautiful, welcoming, tranquil B and B and bedroom I have stayed in. The warm welcome from David, helping us with our bags and offering tea and cake set the tone for our whole stay. The room... More

The Old Rectory has a lot of old world charm. As we drove up it just had what you'd expect to see in movies and travelogues of English character. Dave greeted us with tea and cake. Our room was comfortable, but had a couple of cleanliness issues which kept it from being perfect. We mentioned them to Dave and Christine... More

Warm, comfortable, welcoming...just a really lovely place run by friendly and thoughtful people. The house is a charming oasis in peaceful and beautiful surroundings which are a pleasure to return to after exploring the unspoilt coast and countryside. David and Christine are friendly and helpful hosts, great at making you feel welcome and at home - and being served the... More

Booked this for a birthday treat. Arranged flowers for arrival. Tea and cake when we arrived. Food to die for including Craster kippers. Lovely people make you feel immediately at home. Quiet. Near the coastal path. We will be back

An extremely welcome oasis of calm! As soon as we crossed the threshhold of the Old Rectory, I could feel myself relaxing. The copious tea and home-made cake helped! Unfortunately we were only there for 2 nights, but on both evenings we walked along the coastal path to Craster for our evening meal, enjoying the views and the birds. Thank... More

Wonderful four nights at the Old Rectory. We were made to feel very welcome from the start by Christine and David. Our bedroom (Holly) overlooked the garden and bird tables and was very comfortable. It was our first, and will not be our last, visit to Northumbria and the Old Rectory is in a perfect location for exploring on foot,... More

The Old Rectory is set in a lovely rural location in a small village near the sea. We were given a warm welcome, with a cup of tea in the lounge when we arrived while we pondered where to eat.
