This was an absolute gem of a B and B. A group of us booked out the entire B and B for 2 nights for a wedding. The reception of our hosts, the owners, when we arrived was very very welcoming. They offered us caked, tea and coffee straight away. The setting of the B and B is beautiful with... More

Warm welcome from Christine & David when we arrived for our one-night stay, David was outside to greet us and Christine had the kettle on within 30 seconds with the offer of chocolate cake. Wow - what a beautiful & comfortable home they have and why on earth do they share it with so many people eh? anyhow lucky us,... More

As we pulled up a long the drive into the grounds of the Old Rectory, you knew it was a nice, happy place. It was like coming home. We arrived quite late last week and were quite concerned about our late arrival. I contacted David and Christine and explained. Christine told us not to worry, "Make sure you get a... More

We have stayed many times in this area, but this was our first time at The Old Rectory. It ix a glorious building in its own grounds about 4 1/2 miles south of Embleton. Be careful if approaching it from the north as it is a sharp turn! There is plenty of parking in front of the house facing the... More

This was our second stay at The Old Rectory and our first with our baby daughter and everything was as perfect as remembered from our first stay. We were warmly welcomed by both Christine and David and throughout our stay they couldn't do enough for us and our little one, making it a really pleasurable experience - nothing was too... More

We booked and paid in advance in February for a single night stay in May while walking the Northumbrian coast path. Our luggage was transported separately by Carrylite. My wife and I arrived at the Old Rectory at about 3:30pm and rang the bell. The door opened....Christine stood there....angry face.....ominous silence. Not sure what was happening, we smiled hopefully and... More

With all our many walkers, including yourselves, our service starts with our taking in your luggage and keeping it safe for your arrival. Without exception, we are told in advance who is bringing the luggage and given a contact number. Our service to you began hours before you arrived because we were waiting for your cases, and only ended at... More

We stayed here for two nights in the very early spring/late winter, when it's still quite cool out, but the days are sunny and pleasant. The innkeepers welcomed us and showed us our room right away. He told us to let him know if either or both of us wanted Craston kippers for breakfast, since they need to be ordered... More
