We were refugees from a nearby CCC site where we had grown heartily sick of petty rules and heavy-handed management. This site was just what we needed - minimal interference, perfectly adequate toilets and showers, shelter from the wind. Quiet at night (apart from the snorer in the next tent!). No frills, just honest camping. It was busy but managed... More

Quite a friendly site really. Busy but away from it all. Lovely people on the site. 4 showers n loos on ladies side and the men's too. Washing facilities to get some done. We made mistake of having a walk to craster then castle 2 hours later no gps signal no map luckily we met local phew !! Close to... More

Looked lovely when we first arrived. As others have mentioned we were escorted to our pitch by the man on the bike and that was pretty much it. The toilets and showers were clean enough but rather old fashioned. What we were very surprised about however is the 10p charge for using the showers. This wasn't mentioned to us at... More

Pretty much everything that others have written about Proctor's Stead is accurate. On arrival we checked in at the bungalow. After a brief wait we were guided to our pitch by the owner on his electric bike. We stayed four nights and the site was constantly busy with tents, vans and caravans. When we first called to book we were... More

When we first arrived we were really pleased - its a very rural location and when we first put the tent up there were only a few people in our field and it was a calm and quiet place (albeit for the neighbouring cows!) The toilets and shower rooms weren't anything flash but they were clean enough and there seemed... More

Had an amazing 2 nights mid week stay, facilities spotless, friendly owners and a beautiful area. There was a groups of 7 of us plus a dog in 3 separate tents, we were placed together and couldn't of felt more welcome. A lovely lively campsite with plenty of space between pitches. Thank you.

A lovely well looked after site, great base for beaches and other places. Will recommend to others. The showers have been improved and you certainly get six minutes for your money. One little thing though is it would be nice if there was bins provided in the ladies toilets although they are cleaned frequently there is no where for the... More

Clean, quiet and close to plenty.. An awesome little campsite and the biggest plus of all.. Its not a camping and caravanning club site.. Translated as not overpriced has charm and atmosphere and don't need to take out ridiculous membership to justify saving £5 off a site already more expensive

We have visited Proctors several times mainly due its great location and proximity to fabulous beaches and a great pint of beer at the Jolly fisherman in Craster. The site is rather retro in terms of its showers and toilets but that is part of the charm. Very generous shower is provided for only 10p. Particularly nice site for walkers... More

We have been many times to this site. Rob makes you feel at home and has side lines such as milk, juice, eggs etc. that he sells from the house. Nice and clean facilities. The grass is always neatly cut and the electricity hook up is good. The nearby Village Inn makes lovely meals in beautiful surroundings and they also... More
