We booked in for 2 nights but enjoyed the Inn and area that we stayed an extra night. We had a warm welcome from Tim. Nice room overlooking the beer garden. The food was great we ate there on the three nights.Enjoyed the atmosphere in the bar with the locals. Will love to go back

We popped in having been up to Eggardon Hill, and thought we'd have a look. Very pleasant atmosphere, food looked good, and drinks were great. Landlord was very friendly and hospitable. Will definitely go again.

I have been here many times in the last few months and it has been consistently excellent! Big hearty portions of excellent pub food, with excellent service from a very friendly team. We recently booked a big group for a birthday and everyone enjoyed the food and again the service was brilliant especially considering how many of us there were.... More

I stayed at The Spyway with a French friend last week. I thought it would be an ideal stopover after a day of walking and we were not disappointed. Perfect example of an English country inn. We were made to feel very welcome on arrival, the food was excellent and the room very comfortable. I will return and recommend to... More

There is no pretence here; it's simply a small, straight forward country pub in a lovely rural setting. There is a small bar and two larger rooms which are both set out for dining. Lovely garden with a children's play area. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Lunchtime food included starters: duck spring rolls, smoked haddock chowder, mozzarella fritters, pan fried... More

Eaten a few times and each time the food and staff are fantastic I would recommend the steak and otter ale pie, some very nice ciders on tap as well. Well worth the journey to west Dorset for this hidden gem .

We have just returned from a two night break at the Spyway. This is a special place where you can have a comfy night stay and some seriously good food. The owners pride themselves on sourcing local produce and it's a winner. The whole family are so friendly and made us feel very welcome. For a cosy stay in the... More

Really wonderful stay-Great food and room. Staff so helpful-we felt nothing was too much trouble. Will certainly stay again. Don't be put off by the narrow lanes-its worth the effort to find such a smashing place.

This pub / restaurant is absolutely beautiful. The gardens have a view that is straight from a painting and it is very child friendly. It is so spacious that you can have hordes of children there and still have a very pleasant experience if none of them are yours! The food was excellent. Great roasts, great burgers, AMAZING garlic bread!... More
