We came across the Spyway Inn when doing a walk in late July. We popped in for lunch and were so impressed that we booked for dinner that same evening. Food was excellent and having spoken to a resident about the bedrooms we decided we would come back later in the year for a short break. The following week I... More

The Spyway is a little off the beaten track, but pretty easy to get to off the A35. The bar is pretty small, but the restaurant is of a reasonable size. As some have noted the decor is a little dated, but I would say is fitting for the location and age of the pub. If it were refitted and... More

If you are wanting somewhere quiet to go this is the place to go, it's a little out in the sticks but not hard to find as there is signs for directions. Food is lovely, how ever wait time can be very long sometimes! The landlord is lovely however I do find him slightly over powering, over pleasing & chatty... More

Visited this pub during a walking holiday across Dorset. While I arrived over lovely fields, I was amazed to see cars racing by on a ridge in the distance and realised I'd done the same many times. This must only be two minutes in the car from the A35, I may very well visit here in the car in future.... More

We did not hold out much hope for this pub when we entered, with its rather tired 70s decor. How wrong we were, I'm not sure who was in the kitchen but he clearly knew his stuff. Beautiful produce beautifully cooked. Don't tell the Telegraph, keep it our own little secret.

We recently stayed in this Inn. We had eaten here before and the food was always good, and this encouraged us to book 3 nights B&B. We were delighted with everything. The food was excellent as always, the hosts friendly and welcoming, the countryside stunning. Our room was very comfortable with a beautiful en-suite bathroom with full bath. Free WI-Fi... More

We went as a party of 17, adults and children. Good food and good service. The garden was perfect for a nice sunny day. Area for the children to play was a welcome bonus. The pub menu was ideal with a good choice. Much enjoyed.

Went with a party of six of us, my cousin and family who live near and are regular visitors, and how you can see why. Very nice local country pub, with great food and mist admit ample portions. Really enjoyable

We booked in for 2 nights but enjoyed the Inn and area that we stayed an extra night. We had a warm welcome from Tim. Nice room overlooking the beer garden. The food was great we ate there on the three nights.Enjoyed the atmosphere in the bar with the locals. Will love to go back
