We ate with friends here on a Sunday BH weekend. We found the welcome and food to be of a very good standard. Well worth the price we paid and we would eat here every time we revisit this part of Dorset. Excellent for the price paid.

We returned to the Spyway Inn this year. It is an excellent place to visit, with well appointed rooms with fabulous views. We are intending to eat our way through the menu(!) as the food is of an excellent standard, locally sourced and home-cooked. The owners are really friendly, cheerful and helpful. It is a lovely, peaceful place to stay.

Found this wonderful inn whist travelling to Axminster. A very friendly welcome and the food was really delicious. Nothing was too much trouble as we wanted some changes and additions to the meals. It has a beautiful view from the garden too. Well worth another visit - a real find.

We visited this pub twice during our stay nearby - both times for lunch - once a family Sunday meal and secondly a light lunch after a long and stunning walk in the area. The welcome each time was very warm and homely and the food very good - I've never eaten such a good steak and cheese pie before!... More

This pub is well worth a visit and stay. The welcome is very warm and genuine while the food exceeded all expectations. We had a great view from our room and despite the weather outside being rather cold, the room was always warm and inviting. The breakfasts were excellent and no further food was required all day, until we returned... More

The Spyway is a rustic Dorset pub with rooms and a very welcoming landlord. We visited just before the Easter weekend and enjoyed an excellent lunch in the warm, snug dining room. I would just mention that we did ring to book a table in advance. The specials board was varied and interesting and the small printed menu also offered... More

Went here on the strength of the reviews and were not disappointed! Our meal was simply delicious and served by friendly and helpful staff. This is what a pub / restaurant should be - warm, cosy and welcoming with excellent food. The deserts were also superb. The overall menu was varied, with something for everyone so I urge you to... A wonderful welcome always awaits us at the Spyway Inn. Tim and his mum Viv always make us feel at home and offer a delicious and varied menu. Last weeks fresh crab cakes were a real treat. The warm fires add to the warm feel of the place. As we are not local we can only visit a couple of... More

If you get the chance to visit The Spyway don't miss out, the hospitality is second to none, the food is excellent and the venue is perfect. Start with a drink in the cozy bar, then enjoy the traditional pub atmosphere. Well done Tim & Co.!

Tim and Chris made us feel very welcome and that nothing was too much trouble. The room was pretty good value, clean and well equipped. We chose to eat in house both nights of our stay and were not disappointed. Breakfast was also very good. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and the Spyway Inn is a great spot for access...
