Excellent food! Every course superbly presented and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend the Fish Pie, Lambs Liver for main course and the Baileys creme brûlée or chocolate orange mousse for desserts.

We stayed here for three nights in early January 2016. Tim, the landlord, was there to greet us, and he and his family were extremely pleasant throughout our stay. Our room was comfortable and spacious, made up every day, and the bathroom was a great size, with bath and completely separate shower. There was a plentiful supply of hot water.... More

We stayed for New Year celebrations, had a lovely meal & breakfast. I think as a food pub it is very good indeed. However I found the pub lacking in character a little, no nice open fire to snuggle up to of a winters evening. Upstairs was nice enough but we could hear everything that occurred in the bathrooms either... More

Took Sunday lunch here after walking in the area with Dorset Ramblers. The Spyway parking area is good with great views across the valley and our orders were taken before we began the walk. Service was courteous prompt and efficient. . The portion sizes were large. The chips , which came with Steak and Onion baguette, were spectacularly good. Everyone in... More

Went to this place for a meal last Thursday with friends. Lovely atmosphere very friendly staff and wonderful food with generous portions. Only fault we found, it was far too hot in the bar area. Would definitely recommend a meal there in the restraunt.

What a find! A gem of an English pub in every way: welcoming and friendly staff with good ale, wine, food and accommodation on offer plus a lovely beer garden and children's play area - all set in the beautiful backcloth of a West Dorset landscape. Stayed here for two nights and could not fault the overall experience and care... More

The staff are friendly and helpful- the food is excellent. My very favourite pub to visit. Try the nut roast on a Sunday - or the wonderful chicken stuffed with haggis in a malt whiskey sauce. Cannot fault this pub.

Read the great reviews for this venue and booked a table on a Friday evening. The restaurant is only small and the heating was a little over-powering (well for us anyway)! All-in-all the food was delicious. The scallops were lovely and plump (which makes a change, compared to a lot of places) Can definitely recommend this venue, but go easy... More
