This was literally the worst place we stayed on our travels (and I ever have on other backpacking holidays) The staff (with exception of Alec, who was great) were lazy. We turned up and they were drunk so instead of taking us out on the snorkelling trip, they slept. They played their music ridiculously loudly (I'm 25 - so we... More

To anyone thinking of staying or diving at Scuba Jeff's on Mabul Island we would strongly advise you not to bother. The staff take laziness and incompetence to a new level, Tahir the so called on-site manager was totally useless and the supervisor Patricia was the same. The only person who did any work was the boat captain Dasir. He... More

Scuba Jeff's was incredible. We spent 4 days snorkeling here and tried the discovery scuba diving for the first time, which I would highly recommend. The equipment all seemed new and the dive instructors were super competent and made us feel like we were in good hands. Corals were great and there are tons of fish and turtles everywhere you... There was a bit of miscommunication prior to our trip as the staff told us she failed to retrieve the bank slip even though she confirmed in the email upon receiving it. However, it was all okay when we arrived cos she never asked for it when we arrived at the Semporna's office. The driver failed to turn up and... More

Jeff the owner was around. However, due to public holidays that led to long weekend, the place is overcrowded. From the moment we arrived in Semporna, the office where we were made to wait for the boat is without water, having us to go to the nearby restaurant for nature's call. Later, there was something really wrong with our boat's... More

It breaks my heart to give this review. Pre-Stay Pros: Booking was a pleasant experience. Payment also. Jeff has a very simple office in Semporna. We had to wait a couple of hours before our boat to the lodge, the place gave us a basic place for waiting. Cons: The office toilet is not working. Had to go to a... More

My friend and me originally had planned to stay on Mabul Island only for two nights but stayed for four days in the end - one of the reasons was definitely Scuba Jeff. We had an amazing time :) At first the island is paradise and Scuba Jeff is placed on the more beautiful side. We were shocked first when... More
