In the first week of December, we booked the only two rooms available for our (3 adults) one night stay at The Cape Otway Lightstation, on the 27th December - the OLK rooms. I tried to get info from the web about these rooms, to no avail. All I knew, was, they were some of the only beds available on... More

We didn't actually stay in the cottage but we popped the rooftop tent in the grounds of the lighthouse. There's only room for two or three campervans, but we were the only ones. There are no facilities apart from de mountable toilets and a good BBQ area. But apart from camping with the bare basics this was a terrific place... More

16 of us took the two cottages and had a glorious weekend, helped by amazing sunny weather that saw us breakfasting outside. The king size beds were clean and comfortable and the rooms spacious. While the kitchen was well equipped in terms of place settings more needs to be provided for cooking purposes. It would be best to come equipped... More

Big mistake was not to read these excellent reviews before I booked ! The location is outstanding, however the accommodation is vastly overrated and below standard for the exorbitant price for the 2 night stay. The list is endless but here are the important points : no milk on arrival, heating sparse,no heating in bathroom, however, I can put an oil... More

Having planned on driving the great ocean road and only doing this over two days, we needed a place more or less halfway to the twelve apostles and back to Melbourne. Having seen that there was a place to stay near the lighthouse, it was an interesting choice of place to stay for us as we could clearly see there... More

Disappointing doesn't even come close!!!, booked one night in the head lighthouse keepers cottage for our final night down Great Ocean road, Looked a lovely unique place to stay and somewhere we look forward to staying at. Then what we found was a disaster, property was very old and run down and in desperate need of TLC. Cracked walls, musty... More

Booked two nights.Arrived as requested after 3 to find room as previous guests had left it,including breakfast trays. Not pleasant. When ready,it still wasn`t welcoming.Lit through small French doors, one partially covered by a blind which wouldn`t go up,looking out onto a small, gloomy, fenced and walled in area containing rusty table and chairs.Kitchen and bathroom have no natural light. The fixtures and fittings where... Wow, where to start--it's a GREAT location and the room was OK; however, I felt like I spent most of my time searching for someone to give us basics! Their website promises 'Complimentary tea & coffee is provided' but there was NOTHING in our room--not any sugar, milk, tea, coffee, cups, glasses or cutlery. In addition, the site says 'Also... The wind rattled the windows all night during our stay but we actually enjoyed the atmosphere created by the squally weather. Inside the Head Light Keepers main section we were very cosy with two wood fires (and some electric ones to supplement). The accomodation had everything we needed but don't expect new and modern as you are staying in an... More

This really is out on the edge of the earth! I advise ensuring you arrive before sunset on your first night. The cottage was large, very clean and comfortable, with a great bathroom. We were surprised by some homemade biscuits, a pint of milk and a vase of flowers in the kitchen for when we arrived- and someone had stoked... More
