We stayed at the head light keepers cottage. What a fabulous location. Such an isolated and harsh environment in winter. Rain, howling wind. But absolutely special because of it. The house itself is sparsely furnished. Needs work. Needs blankets. Even simply placing more window furnishing and rugs ( not a single rug in any room of the house) would make... More

I loved staying here. The B&B has nice bedrooms and is very well-equipped for self-catering. It's a great spot to commence bushwalks along the coast. The lighthouse itself is fascinating - and a beautiful spot. The cafe also means that if you get sick of cooking, you can still get a good meal - exceptional food considering the remoteness of... We LOVED staying in the Head Lightkeeper's House at Cape Otway. Just waking to the lighthouse and ocean view outside each morning was amazing, but to have the whole place to yourself after hours was just incredible. This was the kids absolute favourite place ever, and we have to agree - if you ever get the opportunity, stay in this... More

My husband and I stayed one night which coincided with the most beautiful weather and sunset. We were given a warm welcome from the staff and guided to our cottage. A complimentary Devonshire tea on arrival at the cafe was a nice touch but make sure you arrive while the cafe is still open. We realised the remote location so... More

Cons: (a) the kitchenette was as good as non-existent and there was no where to buy food except for the lighthouse cafe. There was not even an electric kettle (so don't even think about eating instant noodles)! (b) the food at the lighthouse cafe was horrendous! No variety, taste bad and very expensive! (c) far from places of attraction. The... More

My wife and I toured Australia for 6 weeks in November and December and the Managers B&B accommodation managed to combine being both our most expensive and the least satisfactory overnight stay. There are no evening meals supplied so they know you are going to have to self cater. We found a fridge with no shelves (what use is that?),... More

We stayed in The Managers B&B at Cape Ottway and have to confess to being less than impressed with both the standard of room. The location is superb and it's great to have the place almost to yourselves after the park closes but there needs to be some upgrading of the standards. The room was small with a double bed almost... If ever in the way south or if friends are traveling, this was quite unique. Not for all, as it is very remote and after 5:30, it is just overnight guests and the groundskeeper. For us that was most amazing. They will fix dinner and bring to your cottage before they leave the tea house for the night. Food was... More

In the first week of December, we booked the only two rooms available for our (3 adults) one night stay at The Cape Otway Lightstation, on the 27th December - the OLK rooms. I tried to get info from the web about these rooms, to no avail. All I knew, was, they were some of the only beds available on... More

We didn't actually stay in the cottage but we popped the rooftop tent in the grounds of the lighthouse. There's only room for two or three campervans, but we were the only ones. There are no facilities apart from de mountable toilets and a good BBQ area. But apart from camping with the bare basics this was a terrific place... More
