Our stay at the Ecolodge was the highlight of our three weeks in Australia. The lodge was comfortable, calm and relaxing. More importantly, we had an opportunity to learn about Australia's wildlife and to support the Environmental Centre's important work and research. Co-founder Shayne led guests on interesting, informative and enjoyable evening walks past kangaroos, koalas, and parrots through meadows... More

Located about 20 mins from Apollo Bay, is a small lodge hand crafted by the owners. A car is a must have to be able to see the local sites. Nearby are the Twelve Apostles, Blanket Bay, zip lining, the lighthouse tour. Onsite is the local wildlife like Koalas hanging out in the trees, Kangaroos hopping about all around the... More

This Ecolodge is in a quite remote area of Cape Otway, but easy to find and a good place to stop if you a following the Great Ocean Road. The building blends with the countryside and inside is clean, welcoming, has a homely feel and is comfortable. Guests are welcomed with a coffee/tea and a slice of Chef's cake of... More

Stayed here for one night whilst on our drive of the Great Ocean Road. Had a tour and talk from Shane who explained all that the Ecolodge is about. We were shown the quoll's the potaroo and the sugar gliders. Dinner was lovely and our room was clean and well appointed. It was a chilly evening when we were there... More

Recognizing that the price for a stay is on the high side, we opted for 2 nights in the Ecolodge in order to have the opportunity to see and learn about Aussie wildlife. The room was simple but charming and clean, with a very comfortable bed. The food was delicious and we enjoyed chatting with other travelers. Best of all... More

Charming room, delicious fun dinners and Roos waiting outside your door every morning. Great sharing stories with other adventurous guests with cold beers around the dining table. Very very knowledgable wildlife guides and caretakers of amazing rare Australian species. Would love to return.

Had a fantastic weekend at the Great Ocean Ecolodge! A clean, comfortable room surrounded by the magnificent Otway rainforest. Everything ( food, service etc.) was excellent, but by far our favourite part of the stay, was the opportunity to learn about and get as close as possible to some of Australia's unique wildlife. It was an unforgettable experience. Koalas, Sugar... More
