I am a 70+ years old Canadian who lives in Taroudant, Morocco. Yesterday was my first day back after a 10 day trip consisting of stops at hotels in Tata, Foum Zguid, Tamnougalte, Alnif, Rissani, Merzouga, Errachidia, Ouarzazate. At Tamnougalte, Chez Yacob was undoubtedly the best place we stayed. Rooms were amazing in this renovated Kasbah. Modern bathrooms with lots... More

Friendly staff, descent food and a beautiful quiet spot of the main road. I didnt spend the night here but the town and the restaurant are definatelly well worth the trip. It offers a great alternative to the very touristic and noisy city of Agdez

We have stoppped at Auberge Chez Yacob for a late lunch on several occasions over the last 4 years on our way to the desert. As well as a friendly greeting we enjoy delicious food and hospitality and nothing is too much trouble. It is a fascinating location to explore and a photographers dream. You can get a English speaking... More

We stayed just one night Chez Yacob, and we found it to be a nice place in this very old historic kasbah. The staff was very nice, helpful and polite, especially the owner, Yacob. He speaks a good english and will help you. The room have air-con, but don't expect a five star accommodation, you get what you pay for.... More

Getting in to Chez Yacoub was an interesting experience - but what an amazing destination. A wonderful place to stay in the middle of an oasis. No luxury hotel - but who would want one when you can stay in a place that makes you feel like you have gone back in time. A true Moroccan welcome!

When we first got to the Kasbah, we didn't know what to expect, but we were greeted with tea by friendly staff who then showed us our room. We were very impressed by the size of the room and with the cleanliness of a room built with mud 150 years ago. The dinner consisted of a moroccan salad, berber omelette,... More

Our small tour group(11) stayed here after our camel ride/overnight in the desert near M'Hamid. We were tired & received enthusiastic welcome from Yacob & a generous portioned lunch in riad style courtyard. Our twin room had double bed also & was up a crumbly flight of stairs on the outer side of the kasbah style building. The non-functioning toilet... More

You may not have stayed anywhere like this before; we certainly hadn't. Don't expect luxury, but you can expect a warm welcome, great views, good food and musical entertainment. Our room was fairly basic and dark, but quiet (with walls about two feet thick!), comfortable and clean. And an early morning walk through the adjoining ruined ksar (or is it... More

Stayed here for a night with my partner and 3 kids. This charming hotel is in a good location being right in the heart of the village. We had a delicious evening meal with live music. Yacob was really kind and welcoming to our children and spent time doing drawings and chatting (in French) with them. The hotel is clean... More

We arrived without a booking and were lucky enough to get the last room, which can only be a good sign when other accommodation in Tamnougalte was completely empty on the same night. Rooms are dark and quiet, giving a great night's sleep. The accommodation is set in a traditional, restored kasbah that's full of charm and features a magnificent... More
