This stay was our second, the first being at least fifteen years ago. It is still run family run (by the next generation). The setting is spectacular! As an old mill there is a small stream and artfully preserved parts of the mill works here and there. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and maintained. The pool area, across a cute bridge... My wife and I just completed a 14 day trip thru France and would rank our stay at Le Moulin du Roc as the highlight. Everything was perfect from the beautiful setting along a picturesque stream to the attentive staff who went out of their way to help and accommodate. The food and service were exceptional. Le Moulin du Roc... More

Charming and beautiful hotel. An old mill, it sits right on a river and below an old French village. The staff spoke zero to little English but we didn't mind. They were very kind and helpful. It's a small hotel but great for exploring. It was May when we went and cold and rainy but we had fun exploring the... More

My girlfriend and I enjoyed a two night stay at Le Moulin du Roc. We were greeted at the quaint reception by the delightful staff and escorted to our room "Colza". The room was fantastic with a jacuzzi bath, 4 poster bed and breathtaking views of the rustic old mill and beautiful rivers that surround the hotel. We had one... More

We went back to Moulin du Roc as we'd had a couple of nights there several years ago and loved the charm of the old mill. The suite we had was very large with a big balcony overlooking the river Dronne. The rooms were furnished in old french style which suits the age of the mill. The staff were very... More

This is a magical place if you like the sound of water. The hotel is surrounded by waterways gushing, gurgling and trickling peacefully by. My single room was wonderful with a large window opening to the sounds of water and had a huge stone fireplace (would be very romantic in the cooler months). Missed dinner at the Hotel due to... My wife and I first visited this hotel almost thirty years ago and have returned for four more visits since. The whole place is a delight with top quality service in top quality surroundings. The restaurants as always is the star attraction and never fails to impress. We went for the full tasting menu and just magnificent with the added... More

We have visited on a number of occasions over the last 15 years. The setting and ambiance are quite superb and the quality of the service amongst the best there is . The rooms are beautful generally though you should beware of the smaller rooms (cheaper of course but a little compromised perhaps?) and treat yourself to a room with... More

We booked Le Moulin for our 3 year wedding anniversary having read a review in The Telegraph. On arrival our jaws dropped as we could not believe how beautiful the hotel was. As soon as we arrived, the staff were welcoming and attentive, and the excellent service continued until the minute we left. The food is top notch, which is... More

Excellent food beyond what is already found in Périgord and that is not to be taken lightly. Old charming houses, Very good service, hosts are more than hospitable. passion is very obvious! I run a Palace in Paris and I can vouch for Le Moulin du Roc as a little Palace in Périgord!
