I would highly recommend staying at Castle Colmberg if you have a car and are visiting Rothenburg. The hotel/restaurant/castle is set above a neet little German town. Has a great view as long as the fog does not roll in. But even the fog was cool to see. I have eated here before during business dinners, and finally got to stay overnight. My husband and I enjoyed our castle room at the top of the stairs- and great views from all windows. The service was friendly- and I suggest that if you are staying overnight to eat in the garden or inside the castle for your dinner meal.... more

I have stayed at Hotel Burg Colmberg every year for the past five years. I always find the place fascinating as it is a real castle. It is close to Rothenburg and Ansbach, but more secluded and more quiet than anything in the towns. The restaurant is nice, but a little pricey. I wish they had a few lighter choices.... more

Burg Colmberg is a fantastic castle/hotel. The rooms were clean and tastefully decorated. The beds were very comfortable and warm. The restaurant was cozy with lots of atmosphere. We ate dinner at the hotel and the food was generous and tasty. There were many choices on the menu including lots of game and the typical German fare. My only complaint... more
