We received a friendly welcome and were immediately offered refreshment. Our bags were carried to our rooms which were clean, bright, extremely comfortable and well equipped. Mr Kerr is a delightful host and will go one step further to make sure everything is done to make the stay a wonderful experience in an attractive house and garden in which we... More

We only stayed one night as we were catching the Harwich/ Esbjerg ferry. Poplars farmhouse is a very well kept period farmhouse with carefully tended gardens. The whole house is traditionally decorated/ furnished with considerable taste - and the bedroom was extremely comfortable and well equipped. We were welcomed by Paul, and given tea and biscuits in the garden as... More

This superbly run B & B is ideally situated for exploring the delightful villages of Suffolk and is in a lovely position. surrounded by countryside but within walking distance of the village where there are two excellent pubs for dinner. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived, with tea and homemade cakes in the garden. Our... More

We spent 2 nights at the Poplars at the end of June and had a lovely time. The farmhouse is full of character and old world charm. We stayed in the Boat Room with a four poster bed which overlooks the garden, front and back. David and Paul are extremely nice chaps; David welcomed us with tea and cake on... More

The absolute ideal. There was nothing I could fault about this place. From the telephone conversations to set up the booking, to the actual stay, to our farewell, the owners were perfect hosts, and their knowledge of the local area was incredibly helpful to us two strangers in the area. The whole of the farmhouse was stylish, intimate and luxurious,... More

I stayed in this B&B with my three sisters for three nights on our annual getaway. We were not disappointed! This was a really lovely place to spend our long weekend away together. The house itself was beautiful with high quality furnishings and was very peaceful and tranquil. Our hosts, David and Paul, were just lovely with exactly the right... More

Lovely B&B in rural Suffolk. Helpful and attentive owners, understated luxury, spacious with lovely garden surrounded by fields. Also great breakfasts. Centrally located to many of Suffolk's attractions.

This was set deep in the countryside, metaphorically 'off the beaten track', although you did approach it along a rough track. The farmhouse was large. The breakfast room had one large dining table and there was a wood burning stove. A lounge area was also available for the use of guests. There was no lift and the stairs were winding... More

Rough Track: A narrow tarmac lane with cow parsley and bracken, no potholes then our concrete farm road. Watch out for the rabbits, squirrels and pheasants and the odd deer. Gloomy Staircase: The staircase in question now has a brighter bulb fitted. Gardenia Room Fireplace: Original and not required to be in use hence the potted palm. Payment: Cash, cheque,... More
