Have stayed many times, a cross between Fawlty Towers and Allo, Allo. Enjoyed the temporary repairs on the, cork handle on the toilet and the masking tape on the lamp shade, gaffer tape on the carpet that had been there for years. Went past recently, seems to be getting refurbished/rebuilt. It'll never be the same!

We stayed there often over the years. Phoned a friend in a nearby village to find that the hotel had closed and even that it was being demolished. I just don't want to see this. This place had atmosphere and an excellent menu and pretty good wine list, too. Those were the days!!

So sad to hear Le Relais has closed. I never stayed there, we used to stay in La Chaumiere across the square but always ate at Le Relais, the food was excellent and the atmosphere superb. I ate there often as a child with my family as we always stayed a night in Ardres after teh boat crossing. Perhaps with... More

We have stayed there many, many times and last night I was so disappointed to phone up and discover the Reivallons had closed the hotel. I would have thought their son and his wife would have kept the restaurant and hotel open. We were planning to stay there at the end of March on our way to the Alps -... More

We were supposed to stay there 1 night in August 2012. Even though the website is still live and it still shows up on GoogleMaps and TripAdvisor, this hotel has been closed for a while. If you are staying in Arras (small but lovely) there are a few places around there that rent out rooms

We booked a room and dinner in January for one night 25 Sept. On arrival the place was quiet although access to rooms was readily available but no one seemed to be about. We were seen by a neighbour who told us the hotel had been closed for 4 months (which appears not to be true). Luckily this was the... More

I understand the very sad news that this place has closed but then we have been going here for many years and watched Madame and Monsieur get older and older. The first time we stayed here was just me and my husband and we laughed about the decor in the rooms, but when you tasted their food you could do... More

As a family we have been going to this restauarnt for years. To begin with the food was excellent, the Coq au Vin was one of the best around. However, over the years the service, and number of people eating there gradually declined. The last time we went we were the only diners and they had to ring up the... More

This lovely old fashioned Frnech hotel closed down permanently on 15 August 2012. It is not reopening and, like the Clement Hotel on the other side of town, it is being converted into apartments. There used to be one other hotel in Ardres called Le Fontainbleue but this has also closed. There are now no hotels at all in this... More

First impressions are good, it is no doubt a picturesque place. The owner could at first be described a formidable and unfriendly but is in fact a nice lady. The hotel itself is a bit rundown and in need of refurbishment in all areas but, if you want cheap accommodation and good food you will not be disappointed. oh and... More
