We stayed here overnight for a friend's wedding in 2015. The staff were courteous and helpful, the room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. A lovely bonus to the trip was being able to swim in the indoor pool on site. We loved the cooked breakfast and the friendliness of the staff, especially at this time of day.... More

Booked at last minute by my sister who lives in Bournemouth, who we were visiting for a birthday celebration. The Rothesay was excellent and met all our expectations! Room was spacious and very clean, the en-suite was very modern and sylish. We were made very welcome by the owners Dee&Mike. Breakfast was ample and parking excellent. We will be using this establishment... More

It is necessary to remind yourself that The Rothesay is a family run B&B and not a hotel, although with its lounge area for guests, swimming pool and spacious accommodation that is easy to forget. Our stay in January, for one night, cost a reasonable £69 and as it was not a busy time we were upgraded to a light,... More

I phoned this hotel in advance to discuss the fact that I am in a wheelchair, the impression they gave me was that they had wheelchair access to downstairs suites. The man I spoke to whom I believe is the owner offered me a rate of £69 which was £3 less then advertised on line. On arrival there were no... More

I arrived for a single night's stay on business. I was greeted with a complimentary pot of coffee and some biscuits. Breakfast was going to be later than I could stay but the proprietor provided me with a breakfast that I could eat before anyone else was awake. It was a very thoughtful touch. The hotel was spotless and very... More

Impressed I was offered a free upgrade for 4 of the 5 nights we were there for. The 4 nights were in a four poster room and had lots of space. The 5th night was in a smaller room but still stylish decor. There were a few minor less than perfect points like curtain rail slightly coming away from the... More

I surprised my Partner with a weekend away to 'pop the question'. This hotel was so helpfull and lovely, even put a bunch of Flowers and wine in the room for our Arrival. Dee and Michael were such good hosts and helped in anyway they could, plus they do a cracking breakfast!! We stayed in the junior suite which is... More

Lovely welcome on arrival by the owner. We were taken to our rooms rather that just being given a key and directions. We stayed in a junior suite which was decorated in relaxing neutral colours. Although we were facing a buy road we weren't disturbed by the traffic. The bed was really comfortable and the bed linen smelt clean and... More

We booked two rooms for a 3 night stay with some difficulties as initially we had received no response to our e-mails. We chose the Rothesay in part due to the heated indoor pool. When we arrived the place was full of workmen and the pool was unavailable due to renovations. It would have been nice to be notified of... More

We stayed at the Rothesay a few weeks ago, whilst visiting family in Lymington. On arrival we had to wait for a lttle while before anyone arrived to show us to our room, but as we hadn't been able to advise the owners of our arrival time (I had tried to call, but there had been no answer) they didn't...
