I, too, couldn't pass up the opportunity to stay in the oldest occupied house in Scotland, and the warm and genuine welcome at Traquair was the perfect opening for our trip. Our flight was delayed, and we arrived late, but as we pulled into the courtyard, Helen, the caretaker/housekeeper popped her head out a third story window to say hello... more

We stayed at Traquair a few years ago but it is still one of the highlights of our short stay in Scotland.
