We enjoyed three different meals in the evenings during our three night stay. Each time the food was really good, freshly prepared and with excellent service. Fortunately the coal fire was on in the bar making it welcoming as the rest of the hotel was chilly. We were staying in a one bedroom cottage to the rear of the hotel.... More

I'm reviewing the bar / restaurant area rather than the hotel and have only good things to say. We popped in here for lunch last week as some of our party had just finished the Selkirk to Innerleithen walk. We were all cold and hungry and, despite turning up 10 minutes before the kitchen closed for the afternoon, were welcomed... More

This is a review of the restaurant and bar at the Traquair Arms rather than the hotel part. It's difficult to know what to make of it; there's a lot of goodwill from patrons towards this place, which is part of Innerleithen's history, but it is now trading on past glories, and it's just not enough. Yes, the bar/eating area... More

My wife and I have now stayed here 3 times now in March, July and October for long weekends, the hotel is a little dated but very comfortable, the staff are extremely welcoming and it has a fairly extensive menu of tasty food. For the whisky lovers I think we counted about 40 to choose from, the bar is popular... More

Visited the Traquair Arms on a very busy night during a race weekend in Innerleithen. The service was excellent from the personable young man who was looking after all the tables in the full to capacity resturant in an courteous and efficient manner. Good homely food enjoyed in a lovely environment. Good value with steaks, deserts and drinks for four... More

When I stayed here in February 2014, I had a terrible experience overall. When I wrote a review on this site back in Feb, I was met with a false and quite rude response from the manager. I WAS not offered an alternative room when I let reception staff know that my room was freezing. I did not turn down... More

Stayed two nights on a Groupon deal so it was cheap. As in previous reviews - had we had to pay the full price we would have been very disappointed. Lounge/bar/main restaurant area has been tarted up and looks OK. Other areas - eg corridors, breakfast room and bedrooms need mega thousands to be spent overhauling and updating. Our room... More

We stayed here like many others on a Groupon deal. We had a room on the 2nd floor which was clean, very basic and very dated looking. Had we paid the full room price (apparently £80) I would have complained but as it was £135 for 3 nights we accepted that it was ok value for money. The bed was... More

We stayed in this hotel for three nights and it was a lovely little bed and breakfast. The breakfast in the morning was brilliant, as much as you could eat and all cooked to order. The room was a decent size yet when discussed with other guests, everyone's rooms was different sizes, we were quite lucky yet some described theirs... More

We stayed in the cottages that Traquir Arms provide at the back of the hotel. When we arrived, we went into the hotel reception to check in, and was given a set of keys, and then told that the cottages were at the back, and that a door was in the middle of the cottages and to go through that...
