What a great find! Would have no hesitation in returning to St John's House nor in recommending it to others. From the warm welcome, the fantastic room with wonderful views over the valley to the homemade jams and fresh eggs for breakfast; everything was amazing. All I can do is concur with the plethora of positive comments from previous reviewers... More

I stayed at this B&B because of a two weeks internship in Cross Hills and soon felt more on a holiday than at work, because of the lovely time I had at St John's. The house used to be the old vicarage and has been redecorated with all modern comfort and in style, keeping the old elements of the house.... More

Kath and family could not be more charming and attentive. The Accomodation is spacious, attractive, warm, comfortable and with great views. Lovely vast breakfast. Just down the road the New Inn is buzzing and serves nice comfort food, reasonably priced. Faultless good value package!

We have just returned from our third visit in a year which must show how highly we regard this B&B. Everything about St.John's House is consistently excellent and it has become our first choice when visiting North Yorkshire.

We stayed for one night and just loved the house and views from our bedrooms upstairs, the location was fantastic and the little village is so beautiful to stroll around. Kath and Doug are a very warm couple and when we arrived we were greeted with tea and home made biscuits.

We stayed here for three nights and would highly recommend St. Johns House B& B. The room was enormous and spotlessly clean and the breakfast of the highest quality. The hosts were very welcoming and the location perfect.

This was our 3rd stay here and as usual it couldn't be faulted. Comfortable bed, well thought out bedroom with everything we could possibly need and the bathroom was sparkling clean. The breakfast was delicious with mostly either home grown or locally sourced ingredients. Very welcoming hosts and family (and dog!). Will definitely visit again!

We are incredibly impressed by this lovely B & B. We (a retired couple) booked at the last minute after a cancellation and ended up with the family room: a large bedroom with an adjoining children's room. The ensuite is large, impeccably appointed with quality fittings; the children's room has two single beds and plenty of play and storage space.... More

We stayed with our family while tackling the Hoy 100 sportive cycle event. This B&B is ideal for families selecting the family room as it is spacious, clean with a good bathroom and books/toys to keep the children occupied. Situated in a lovely location from where you can explore. The local pub in walking distance was friendly and accommodating and... More
